need recommendation for chimney sweep

We are looking for a chimney sweep to do a safety inspection on our wood burning fire place. I don’t have any indications that there’s any problem, but I would like to have that confirmed as we head in to winter. We would also like a quote for installation of a insert, but that’s a distant second to the need for a basic inspection. Anyone have any recommendations?

We recently used Mad Hatter Chimney Sweep for both an inspection and a cleaning. We were pleased with them and the prices were good. They even came back and hauled our old wood burning insert away for a good price so we didn’t have to deal with it. ;)

I like this great guy named Bert; unfortunately, he’s based out of London, has a horrible cockney accent, and is probably getting a bit old for the job.

He’s super cheerful, though – great with kids as well. Does have a tendency to sing while he works, which is a plus for some, but may be a minus for you, especially if you’re an uptight banker who’s forgotten how to have fun.
