Furry Faces requested that I post asking for donations for the cremation as they don’t have the funds needed. Donations may also be made directly to them just make sure they know it’s for MUCHLOVE WSB CREMATION AND they’re tax deductible.

littlebrowndogParticipantSo very sorry for your loss. I donated to you thru Furry Faces; specified for you. I hope you received it, because maybe there is some sort of glitch. Folks, I know there are many, many pet lovers out there who understand the grief of losing a beloved pet. Let’s help with this.

muchloveParticipantThank you Donna for your donation and compassion. As of last night Furry Faces said there were not any donations.
If further donations are made this morning PLEASE MAKE THEM DIRECTLY TO PRECIOUS PETS ANIMAL CREMATORY
June 27, 2016 at 10:29 am #849026
littlebrowndogParticipantThat is strange, because I have a PayPal receipt for my donation to Furry Faces and in the comments I put it was for you. And that was at 11:08am. I am not happy about that.
Please email me at dykstradma@quidnunc.net and confirm they still are saying there were no donations, and let me know if you still need money for it. I have a meeting for much of the rest of the day, but will try to check for messages.
June 27, 2016 at 10:51 am #849027
muchloveParticipantDonna – As of 11:46 pm 6/26 – NO donations to Furry Faces for me. I’ve tried to confirm again and haven’t heard back from her.
Precious Pets Crematory is allowing donations to be made through the end of today. 253-929-8495 or 206-510-1351 – ID#00683

muchloveParticipantThank you to the absolutely amazing 3 people that donated! I truly appreciate it! Balance is 0
June 27, 2016 at 12:39 pm #849042
lindaParticipantA huge thank you to all who donated. Please note that Furry Faces is an all volunteer organization. Because we work regular jobs Monday through Friday, we are not always able to immediately respond to requests during business hours. Most of the time we check email while on our lunch breaks and after work. I did not spot this post in time to check during my lunch break so I have reached out to our fearless leader to let her know about this post, hoping we can confirm PayPal donations during her lunch hour today.
Linda, Furry Faces Secretary.June 27, 2016 at 4:36 pm #849068
muchloveParticipantAccording to Furry Faces 2 donations were made via PayPal for a combined donation total of $35
Once that is received by Precious Pets less PayPal fees – we will apply it to an urn or urn necklace.
June 27, 2016 at 6:35 pm #849075
JayDeeParticipantI got confirmation mine with through FFF. As small as it was.
June 29, 2016 at 12:43 pm #849209
muchloveParticipantHopefully the donors that made donations direct to Furry Friends received REFUNDS as I will NOT be receiving the donations.
June 29, 2016 at 4:01 pm #849224
JayDeeParticipantFFF refunded me my donation saying: “Hi JayDee, Thank you for you caring, generous donation towards our client’s dog’s cremation. The bill was paid in full so the Cremation business is no longer accepting donations. Therefore, we need to refund your donation.”
So it seems like it worked out. Again, my sympathies.

Junction JoeParticipantWhoa, is this really the purpose of the WS Blog? I find it very odd that people are now begging on the blog.

littlebrowndogParticipantAlthough not a West Seattle native, after living in this community for 30 years I think I can safely say we are a community that has tried hard to be close-knit and supportive of one another. Until the recent construction boom that has been an oft-cited reason for people choosing to move here. And who knows, perhaps I am underestimating our newest residents moving into the apartments and condos.
From time to time situations such as this have been posted here in the WSB. After vetting the issue, because of our concern and support for one another we have at various times offered forth cash, food, furniture, housing, volunteer hours, transportation and other much needed goods and services. I see it as what community is all about. And WSB, including the forums, is a voice of the community. Your perceived “begging” is my perceived call for mutual support.

JanSParticipantas someone who actually has been on the receiving end because of the generosity of this community, I give many thanks. This woman was not “begging”..she had asked originally for information to help care for a very sick pet. This community is generous to a “T”. No one is required to answer her or help her. I am glad that Furry Faces Foundation could step in and help her, as did others. Losing one’s dear pet and friend is traumatic, and our community made it easier for her to deal with.
Junction Joe…how sad that you can only be negative while this woman is hurting. Perhaps it is better to keep negative comments like this to yourself in the future.

Junction JoeParticipantHummm. Still feels like begging. But thanks for the useful advice.

miwsParticipantWow….
July 9, 2016 at 10:59 pm #850426
HunterGParticipantIt does seem like begging. Sorry. I have pets, and pet insurance. Be an adult and pony up funds for your little one. Seems like a scam to me.
July 9, 2016 at 11:07 pm #850427
JeannieParticipantI am a dog-lover, and I feel for muchlove’s loss. It’s awful to lose a beloved pet – I know. And it isn’t very nice to make remarks about “begging.” But I can see where Junction Joe and HunterG are coming from, even if I don’t agree with them. There have indeed been scams with people asking for money for non-existent causes, even though those are much less common than legitimate requests for funds. Plus, many people have “donation fatigue,” where we get maybe 10 requests every day for money for a good cause. And, finally, when I see Kickstarter and GoFundMe requests for, say, donations to help an established filmmaker make a new movie or an established bar owner to open a new watering hole, I roll my eyes. I’d much rather donate my money to truly worthy causes.
Bottom line: My condolences for the loss of a dear, beloved pet. And perhaps cynicism has no place in this thread, but these are cynical times. -
