kootchmanMemberSigh… and to think voting is a right…. 5 out of 9 Miss American contestants couldn’t name the current VP…. They get to vote.. oh, boy isn’t that encouraging for the fate of the republic? Bet then I ran across this gem… I am headed to the 5 for a jack on the rocks.
Description:Miss USA 2012 has been crowned. But before the pageant revealed a winner, the top five had to answer a final question. When Miss Ohio was asked to name a movie in which a woman is depicted in a positive way, she picked prostitute-themed “Pretty Woman.” Not surprisingly, she didn’t take home the crown
A swing state too……we need it…. or it could stay blue… how to appeal to these voters? Keep it verrrrry simple

BostonmanMemberIf I wasn’t still at the office I would join you at the 5 for a jack. My drink of choice.

2 Much WhineParticipantI don’t think you are being fair to Miss USA – she was probably coached by Donald Trump and we all know how invalid his opinions are.

casabobaMemberRe.: Post # 3, Ha, ha, ha…Methinks if “THE Donald” coached the Miss USA contestants that when asked to name the current VP they would have been instructed to reply “TRUMP!” In fact, I would guess “THE Donald” would have advised them to use the word “TRUMP! as the default, de facto answer to all questions.

DBPMemberWell, Julia Roberts’ character in “Pretty Woman” was positive. I’m sure that answer didn’t cost her the title.
The most surreal moment in this year’s pageant was when they asked the winner if she thought it would be fair if a “transgender woman” won the title over a “natural-born woman.”
Her reply:
I do think that that would be fair, but I can understand that people would be a little apprehensive to take that road because there is a tradition of natural-born women, but today where there are so many surgeries and so many people out there who have a need to change for a happier life, I do accept that because I believe it’s a free country.
Hmph. I remember a time when “natural-born woman” meant something altogether different. Free country or not, I like the old ways . . .

hammerheadParticipant“natural-born women,” what is she kidding. I am sure there is not one thing that hasn’t been nipped, tucked or whatever (fake tan)else is done to them.
None the less it is a damn shame those women didn’t know who the VP is. I actually thought it was joke…(a funny moment)but then figured out they really did not know.

kootchmanMemberDPB….inspirational … what did she agree to? $300 per night? way to go girl… Many ladders to choose from I guess. Ain’t it wonderful what a land of opportuntiy we have.. so many ways to get to “climb” to the top;

kootchmanMemberI’ll watch her miws…only if she gets the “leg chair” on The Five.
June 5, 2012 at 3:05 pm #760102
JoBParticipantkootch..
thanks for finally helping me to understand your perspective…
“I’ll watch her miws…only if she gets the “leg chair” on The Five.”
i simply didn’t understand why we seem to have a different perspective on what constitutes news ;->
btw.. busted fellas..
definately sexist conversation here…
want me to go fishing for dumb things jocks say?
I am guessing i won’t have to fish far…

greatfree1MemberJob – Dumb jocks are completly different conversation, they aren’t trying to be Mr. Jock USA. These woman are looking to represent us as a country, they should know who the VP is. What is sexist about that?

miwsParticipantJust for the record—and I think, and hope that at least JoB was already aware of this—my earlier comment was in reference to one that kootch made on another thread, regarding Rachael Maddow’s looks, compared to the “hot” women news/talk anchors on Fox.

kootchmanMemberwell miws, here’s one for ya…. ya got the two em … neither one is going to make sense, one is dumber than a box of rocks one should be on thorazine, and is irrational… So, which one ya gonna look at?
June 5, 2012 at 6:15 pm #760107
kootchmanMemberGo ahead JoB… we don’t care, really.
June 5, 2012 at 6:55 pm #760108
miwsParticipantOh, I’ll probably look at the hot one, kootch.
But I’ll have a lot more respect and admiration for the smart one…

IrukandjiParticipantI thought Hillary was Miss America. Ms. America, anyway. All those pretty pageant girls would sure look great on billboards advertising plumbing, though!
June 5, 2012 at 7:49 pm #760110
Ms. SparklesParticipantWho still watches beauty pagents???
Comment no. 15 – what are these women competing to represent? The USA in the next pagent? Which means…?
***yawn*** nobody but the contestents and sponsers care. The exact level of importance they and their ignorant answers should be given is a big fat zero.
