Just a thought, why don’t we get out from behind our computers and start a community happy hour? We can have non-alcoholic drinks too. I would be willing to approach a place for us and request even greater discounts for happy hour (for cocktails and food), for our group. It could be every 1st Friday of the month. Any ideas? I know saltys may not be a 1st choice, but they are large enough with deep pockets. Shadow land? Any pub that is more casual and has the space to accommodate . Not bamboo grill though- thumbs down on quality control of food and beverage Shout it out. I will do the homework.

How about Dukes. They have an entire 2nd floor that is vacant for just this sort of thing. We could then do a beach walk, if up for it. I can contact Duke directly and see what discounts he could provide. I bet he’d b

I think that is a good idea happy hour-

as far as meeting people, sometimes it is easy and interesting to strike up conversations with people on the water taxi..have done that a few times (on weekends)

    BigPhil,

West Seattle is very friendly, IMO. Go to the same places over and over and you will become a familiar face. It is too the point where I can no longer get lost in this part of the city without running into someone I know–has it’s good and bad points.

Welcome! West Seattle is the best neighborhood in this city by far. Seriously…

Welcome to West Seattle, all you newbies! We moved here three years ago and we love it. I met some of my favorite people through this very blog (the illustrious group JanS mentioned) but I’d be up for more socializing if a group gets together. I’d advocate for a place in the junction or Bev over Alki, but that’s just me. And BigPhil, Skylark is great all the time, but especially on Wednesdays for trivia!!
