It’s not in West Seattle but I’ve had good luck with the mac store in the U-District.

Check with TouchTech Systems in The Junction, a Mac specialist though I’m not sure if that includes repair as well as purchasing.

Also – we have a new computer-service sponsor, CSS (Computer Service Solutions)

I confess I don’t know if they handle Macs and I should find out because we are all-Mac here at WSB (well, the kid has a PC laptop, which we can use for checking any issues reported by PC users). Worth a call if you haven’t yet found what you’re looking for.

Macs rule! Also try the Mac. forums or even post here. I tinker.

I can fix most Macs. I have a few old macbooks that are waiting for parts to materialize on craigslist too.

Wireless should be pretty simple to fix. Either it detects accesspoints or it doesn’t.

If it does then it is configuration, if it doesn’t, it is usually the switch turned off (software on some) or an actual problem with the internal mini pci slot or module.

Tell us what model and if you detect signal then I (and probably a dozen people reading this blog) can probably tell you how to fix it.

If you insist on spending lotsa money on “authorized Mac service” for an older unit then goforit. The mac store could not stay in business without ya.

    :)
