rugsmithMemberHi – I’m looking for a local (WS, White Center, Burien even) metal fabricator to cut posts for a cable railing system for a deck. Any suggestions?

jwwsParticipantTry Pacific Sheet Metal – their place on Spokane St burned down in January but they have relocated near Todd Shipyard and have signs posted with new number and location outside their former Spokane St location.

KevinParticipantDo you just need cutting? If so, I have a metal cut off saw that could easily cut off square or round metal tubing, which could probably be brought to your house if you already have the material.

KevinParticipantAnd if you need more than just cutting material, such as welding, you might want to talk to:
Macy’s White Center Blacksmith
10037 14th Ave SW Seattle, WA 98146 – (206) 767-2731
They do lots of custom stuff like hand railings, security doors, and general fabrication work. I have used them before, and they have a clean well stocked shop.

JasperbluParticipantHey all, do you think Macy’s White Center Blacksmith, or perhaps even Pacific Sheet Metal can come up w/ some house numbers for me? Rather than post a whole new thread, this seemed like a good place to ask.
I want an “art piece” for my house numbers that is pretty good sized & perhaps even lightable from the back w/ LED’s. It will be mounted to the brick fascia of the house, on small posts (not flat against the surface).
Suggestions in/out of West Seattle most welcome!
Cheers,
Cheryl

Mike D.ParticipantJasperblu/Cheryl – Your house number project sounds like it may be something my wife would be interested in. We live in WS and our shop(s) are located near Georgetown. Contact her at Studio Steel LLC / http://mimiriley.com/Site/Home.html or call her at 206-650-0235. Have fun with it:)

JasperbluParticipantMikeD. I will definitely look up your wife & her shop… I see all these great modern and unique house numbers all over West Seattle, but no one knows where they were made. Short of knocking on people’s doors, I’ve had a hard time finding a local shop. Thanks for the recommendation!
