MMA is Methyl Methacrylate which is not so good for your nails or health in general. Plus, I think it looks alot cleaner/natural. I have the MMA free acylic on now but the place I get my nails done at no longer has nail technicians there on Saturday! Uugh! I’d LOVE to find a place in West Seattle…… know of any?

    Thanks!

I asked this question in Facebook since we have a crowd of 1400-plus there and somebody might know … this seems like the most promising answer so far:

    >>The last place I went to (probably 7 years ago) that was non-MMA was InSpa. Also, I’d give Julep a call…they are newer and have a few salons in the area. I know that they try to only carry “earth friendly” products, so my guess is if they DO acrylics they are a good bet<<

((If you are on Facebook and haven’t “friended” us yet, we’re WS Blog and we send out a fair amount of news that way too – sometimes short breaking news that hasn’t made the site here yet or has made it in different form, as well as little info-blurbs))

When I attended the Sustainability Fair last year, they were giving out phone books listing Green Businesses. Perhaps a non-MMA nail salon was listed in it? I wonder if the phone book has an online version. TR?

I have a nail lady she works out of her house down by alki on 62nd ave. Her name is Barb Norlin.

I do think that if you have your own product she would be happy to do your nails.

Thanks Guys! I will keep Barbs # on hand and give her a call. If anyone is interested, the place I currently go to is called Sense Nail Salon (206)361-9888. They have 2 locations. One in Shoreline (just nails) and one in the Convention Center Downtown (full salon). If you go to a website that has the 1/2 price stuff (Kiro 7, Movin 92.5, Warm 106.9, etc…) You can get a $50 gift certificate for $25!
