BCRParticipantLooking for recommendations on birthday party locations/fun things to do to have for a 6 year old?
Thinking Camp Long…. anyone been there and have input?
Maybe skating, bowling, etc.
Would love any great ideas you have for successful fun 6 year old birthday parties!
Thanks in advance!

sam-cParticipantbumping this up so it doesn’t disappear under louis vuitton ads.
we had a party at Camp Long. It was fun. Rented the classroom type space in the basement (in case of rain). Had some activities in there and some outside on the lawn. That required more work than say, a bowling party where the activity is already organized. I’d say a small group of 6 year olds is a perfect age for a bowling party. They are old enough to be dropped off and are focused enough to pay attention (whose turn is it) and not wander around.

WSBKeymasterSorry, they’re not ads, they’re spam, and all I can do is keep coming back here every few minutes to kill them off. I apologize, there is no reason why about a third of the usual spam onslaught is appearing on the page instead of going straight to the filter. We did at least get out of the phase in which all the REAL forum posts were going to the filter.
We BTW had our son’s birthday party at Camp Long many years ago, before it was a somewhat popular thing to do. Having it in the lodge and then having his then-classmates take a tour with a naturalist … priceless. Good luck!

fishmonsterParticipantWe have our 5 year olds bday party at Mercer Slough Environmental Center coming up. It is fully planned for us and run by Pacific Science Center. We haven’t had it yet, but we like that it is outdoors with a naturalist, etc. Not in WS but it works for us as friends are coming from the Eastside and all parts of Seattle.

Also, in Burien: The Jungle Gym, Retreasure
Or, any picnic shelter at one of our great parks, Some easy party games, a scavenger hunt, or bubbles can make it fun!

RaincityParticipantWhen my daughter has that age we did a pony ride party at Farrel-McWirter Park in Redmond. She’s thirteen now and she still says it was the best birthday party ever.

We’ve also done parties at the school of acrobatics and circus arts in Georgetown:

trickycooljParticipantI might have to forward this list to my relatives with similar age kids before I have to go to the Tukwila Family Fun Center again. Definitely avoid that one!
