dustinParticipantDid anyone just hear a giant boom in the Shorewood area? I’m at 106th and 28th and something outside just rattled the house. Too big to be a gunshot. Anybody else here anything?

dapuffinParticipantI thought it might be a blown transformer.
Walked outside and there’s no smoke or smoke smell outside that I can detect. Doesn’t look like anybody nearby lost power. Pretty weird.
I remember sonic booms from my childhood. If memory serves correctly, that sound was more like a loud **crack**

MargLMemberHand grenade? Still no sirens, so it probably wasn’t someone’s house blowing up from a gas leak or something like that… thank goodness!

WSBKeymasterI think we heard it here but there’s nothing detectable scanners/911 etc. If it had anything to do with police activity, I might not be able to find out till Monday, our best hope is if someone turns up with firsthand info. I also checked the “recent earthquakes” webpage because sometimes quakes come off that way where they happen. Nada. Will keep monitoring other sources too – TR
