I had a seamstress make a “Utilikilt” out of a pair of Carhartt dungarees and I am looking for shiny metal studs to help adorn this ersatz kilt. I am also looking for fake blood. I thought I’d go to Michael’s, but my memory is too old and there is no Michaels in Georgetown anymore.

I am thinking the studs would have little teeth that would grab the cotton duck fabric or something similar.

The fake blood is probably something I could get at Bartells, but it would be great if it looked like blood and not just red goo.

    Thanks. – JayDee

Corn syrup + red food coloring is messy, but a convincing stage blood. Champions Party Supply in Lower Queen Anne or Display and Costume in Northgate have a variety of stage blood options, including paste, gel and liquid.

I think I saw packs of studs at Target in their dollar section at the front of the store.

I will be in a small town tomorrow (Burlington) on business and figure I will check out Joann’s for studs, and I will see if there is a party store. Thanks for the ideas.
