I had the spring on my garage door break last night. Can anyone recommend a garage door repair place? Any ideas on what it costs to replace the spring?

    Thank you

I’ve used PROLINE SYSTEMS INC in Kirkland for repairs and they’ve been good. If I recall, a spring costs around $200 to replace, but you may depend on the make and model.

Thank you for the recommendation Robert. I called them Thursday and yet to hear back.

Also as a warning for others I called Garage Door Repair West Seattle and they charged $29 to come out and give an estimate. And that estimate was very inflated. $450 to replace a spring! $600 to replace a panel.

I Called a second place, can’t remember the name and they wanted to charge $39 to take a look.

Then called Sound Door Service. While they could not come out till yesterday they did not charge to give the estimate and they replace my one spring with 2 springs (one on each end) replaced my photo eyes that are broken, and put a hinge in place so the door would work while I wait for a new panel. All for $375.

There estimate on the panel by the way is $310.00 installed so watch out for those charge to give estimate places. They have no reason to give you a fair price since they are getting some money just to show up.
