dustinParticipantFor our anniversary this year, my wife and I are looking into getting a couples massage. With so many great massage therapists in West Seattle (and some who even frequent WSB) I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I’ve found a few listings for couples massage in Seattle via Google and Yelp, but since this is going to a special treat for the two of us, I was hoping my trusted West Seattl-ites might be able to weigh-in on the matter.
If the couples massage doesn’t end up working out, does anyone have any recommendations for a massage experience where the atmosphere/ ambiance was especially relaxing, calming, etc.?
Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

JanSParticipantDustin…I don’t personally know these massage therapists, just know of them. They are sisters who work out of a house right behind La Rustica, and I bet they could work something out for you.

dustinParticipantThanks Jan! I was hoping you’d put in your 2 cents.

SueParticipantI’ll put my 2 cents in on the experience of a couples massage. My husband and I each get (non-couples) massages once a month. Once we decided to get a couples massage for a special occasion. I wanted to have a relaxing massage where I could melt into the table. He, on the other hand, was chatty and had a massage therapist who spent the entire session in loud, laughing conversation with him, and were constantly addressing me and my therapist to talk with them like it was a party. The two of them drove me crazy, and my own massage experience was less than ideal. So you might want to talk to your wife ahead of time as to what atmosphere the two of you want and coordinate that ahead of time, so that one of you doesn’t lie there wishing the other was gone. :)

JanSParticipantDustin, if I can’t accommodate, I always try to refer within West Seattle :)
I hope you can arrange this…and let me know how it was, for future referrals…

JanSParticipantSue…did you tell him to put a sock in it? lol..
talk therapy is such an interesting thing :)

addParticipantIf you want to travel outside of WS, Ummelina Spa has some amazing couples experiences – massage as well as water-related treatments, etc. I like Ummelina because they have the before & after relaxation room so you can linger for a while after your treatment.
My husband and I had a couples massage at the spa at Hotel 1000 and it was very nice. Mellow, quiet, nice room.

dustinParticipantThanks for the recommendation, add. I’ll have to check them out.
