There is a car prowler in Arbor heights my daughters car has been opened and gone through. They don’t seem to be interested in stealing the car just what is inside the car. So far all they have gotten is a small LED flashlight.

Were there multiple prowls in your neighborhood, do you know? I’ve been listening to the scanner the past hour or so and heard what sounded like an investigation to that effect but not entirely sure.

I had a creepy experience yesterday morning. I wasn’t sure if it was prowling, casing, or perversion, but ended up not calling anyone to report it. I was walking my dog and a man in a silver Chevy Cobalt pulled over and asked if my dog barked much. I thought that was a very strange question & the more he talked, the more creeped out I became. When I first noticed him he was driving slowly up and down streets, specifically 37th & 102nd.

PLEASE call. You never know what you might be preventing.

Ah – reminds me I needed to file a report for our car that was gone thru earlier this month. They took the rear cargo cover of our hatchback and the ashtray with a small amount of change.

They may be casing for specific parts…

Sometime over the weekend of the fourth someone stole the catalytic converter from my 4Runner near 40th Av. S.W. and Thistle. My neighbor forwarded me an e-mail about an apparent casing of cars around 39th S.W. and Sullivan that an acquaintance of hers had sent.

WSB, that used to be my philosophy – call the police just in case. However, after having called several times over circumstances more serious than this and either gotten no response or having been treated like a troublemaker, I no longer call police unless I have something concrete to present in terms of evidence of a crime. Unfortunate, but that’s the way it is.

I went to the SPD website to report my misfortune and found myself feeling more like the perp than the vic while filling in personal data about me. Finally I just canceled the form. What my DOB and race have to do with a catalytic converter escapes me.
