raminoParticipantI’m a senior with a 5 year old car that needs complete cleaning and detailing (interior and exterior). I’m aware of some of the special methods used by many detailers to prepare the exterior paint for waxing and want to be sure these are applied. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

TDeParticipantTalk to Rico at Rico’s Quality Auto Buff… 4623 36th Ave SW… just off Alaska Street, across from The Grove Hotel. He’ll let you know what they do there and they do a good job. 935-2798

cjboffoliParticipantI had a different experience at Rico’s. I took my car in last summer for a detail. I had heard good things about the place. And I liked that it was an easy walk home from the Triangle.
When I picked up the car it certainly looked good from a distance. But upon closer inspection I was disappointed. The detail wasn’t all that detailed. The wax removal was a bit sloppy. And the car was surprisingly dirty in some places.
I communicated by disappointment with Rico, who seemed like a nice guy. He apologized and said my next detail would be on the house. But I’m not sure I’m going to take him up on that. I just think if you spend $200 for a car detail, and leave the car with them for the day, then the job shouldn’t look rushed.
So maybe they were just having an off day. But if you’re looking for your car to be meticulously clean Rico’s might not be your best bet.

TDeParticipantI didn’t have that experience at all and I’ve taken two separate cars there over the past year. They came back absolutely beautiful every time.
Sometimes employees disappoint and the job of a boss is to make it right for you and to make sure employees never disappoint again. Give the guy a chance. Sounds like he’s trying really hard to fix this for you.

cjboffoliParticipantTDe: I DO appreciate when a small business owner is sincere about correcting a problem. But I appreciate it even more when they get something right the first time without me having to complain.
