Primary Objective:
Effectively assist management staff in overseeing the operation of a profitable, safe and clean distribution center within your area of responsibility. Responsible for maintaining the overall integrity of the warehouse inventory systems and assisting the management team to ensure the successful day to day operation of the distribution center. A key component to this position is to assist in maintaining positive employee relations and providing direction and training to others.

Schedule: This position supervises a mid-shift of approximately noon until 9:00PM.

Reports to: Distribution Center Operations Manager

Major Responsibilities and Duties Which May Be Considered Essential:

Seek new, improved and innovative ways to increase effectiveness and proper execution of departmental operations and processes.

Operational Responsibilities:
Accurately process paperwork to the satisfaction of the accounting department and company management. Resolve any discrepancies quickly and efficiently.
Cross train employees to ensure you have an acceptable level of depth at every position.
Research and resolve customer service errors (pick errors, inventory errors, over ships, etc.).
Maintains accurate inventory locations and move inventory locations as required. Ensure that stock is rotated appropriately.
Must deal with employee issues in a tactful, courteous and professional manner.
Set a professional example by enforcing policies such as attendance, proper dress and grooming code and exercising reasonable control of expenses.
Must be able to operate all distribution center equipment, i.e.; hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, bailer and trucks as needed.
Assist in communicating with store management regarding their needs and the current status of their order within the scope of your responsibility.
Properly set alarm and secure distribution center at the closing of the day if required.
Assist in maintaining the safety and security of the warehouse. Ensure that all safety procedures are enforced at all times.
Use good judgment to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Be able to deal with variables that occur on occasion that might deviate from the normal working situation.
Other duties as assigned.

General Comments:
Will assist in training of distribution center staff to ensure the proper job knowledge of each associate.
Serve as a role model by enforcing company policies such as attendance, proper grooming standards, etc. and will provide input as well as consistent documentation of employee’s performance .
Responsible for supervising, guiding, cooperating with and supporting distribution center employees in the implementation of their daily duties.
Must be flexible enough to work different shifts as business needs arise.
Regular attendance and punctuality is required.

Qualifications and Skills Required
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must have the ability to quickly and accurately perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend conversational English to be able to read stock orders, safety rules and instructions in the use of machinery.
Previous warehouse/distribution center supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Stand on concrete floor for long periods of time.
Make visual comparisons and see slight differences in shapes and sizes of figures, widths and lengths of lines.
Move hands, fingers and eyes rapidly and accurately in making precise movements with speed.
Extend hands, arms in all directions; seizing, holding, grasping, picking merchandise mainly with the use of fingers.
Move fingers and manipulate small, medium and larger items rapidly and accurately.
Must be able to squat, kneel and bend below the waist-level to lift up to 50lbs from floor to chest.
Frequently obtain merchandise from below waist-level and raise it to above the head.
Use electronic hand held devices for order fulfillment.
