luckymom30ParticipantMy husband received a call this morning from a company saying they were providing a security check on his atm card and for him to call them back. Last year around this same time we received a similar call regarding both our bank accounts, which are joint accounts.
Suspicious so I call SMCU and several other members have called to complain about these calls, it is a scam so please do not call them back or give them any information.
On call i.d. they come through as 800 service

valvashonParticipantCaller ID is worth every penny. I recommend you don’t answer any calls that you can not identify. Legitimate callers will leave a voice mail or a message on your machine (great for screening- know the person? pick up the call!). But isn’t it rude to not answer your phone? Times have changed. Cold calling is rude. Use the weapons at your disposal to avoid unwanted calls. If you are curious about any number, just type it into that search engine that probably has a window up there to the right.

The consensus online seems to be that they are falcon services who works for several credit unions.
The droids at your local bank often have no idea the company is contracted to watch for suspicious activity on customer accounts. Since it is a call center, these are not necessarily geniuses at Falcon either but they must justify their existence statistically it seems.

ZenguyParticipantI used to work in credit cards and had someone that called me and told me the police had found her card, I said oh? Yes, they called and told me they found it and needed me to give them my pin to verify who I was…. SERIOUSLY?
