UPDATE: Costco hit by SODO power outage

10:44 AM: Thanks to the readers who have sent word that if you’re braving the bridge or alternate routes to try to get to Costco on 4th Avenue, don’t do it right now – they’re closed because of a power outage. The City Light map shows a small outage adjacent to a planned-outage area.

1:01 PM: The outage map now shows the unplanned part of the outage resolved. But we weren’t able to get through to a live person at Costco to ask if they’ve reopened.

1:48 PM: Commenter J says they’ve confirmed with employees that the store has power again.

Do you happen to know if the city is going to fix the traffic cam titled “SW end of high bridge”? Currently stuck on a rainy day image and has been for quite some time. It’ really beneficial to those of us deciding between alternate routes to know if traffic is backed up all the way to Fauntleroy or not.  Or maybe it’s not since I appear to be the first to ask!  Ha!Thank you!

I’ve asked SDOT about them, back a week ago when the other bridge images were busted too. I don’t have an ETA on a fix.

Since it’s Costco, we can just wait another week to buy two gigantic jars of mayonnaise and a 7-pack of toothbrushes.

I toyed with the idea of heading over there this a.m., then decided against it. Between the big traffic detour and the power outage, I’d say the fates really do not want Westies to visit Costco today. ;)

Sorry, comment time is over.
