WHALES: Sightings in our area

Two reports from Kersti Muul: Transient orcas, northbound, about half an hour ago, and a gray whale, also northbound. Both sightings were reported north of the north end of Vashon Island. Let us know if you see them!

Kersti, I’ve been watching for whales here for 70 years now and always miss the sightings. Is there a Twitter feed or something I can get on that would improve my chances ?Except for the orphan at the Vashon ferry years ago I have never seen any except for a whale watching trip to Anacortes.I don’t have that many years left now to keep looking on my own 😔Thanks 😊

I could have sworn I heard a blowing twice around 9:15-9:30. I live off Alki near 55th. I looked out but didn’t see anything. But now  I see this and wonder if it was a gray whale?

Grey whale is now likely the humpback that has been in the area.
