UTILITIES: Water-main break in Arbor Heights

Thanks to the neighbors who’ve sent word about this: Some Arbor Heights residents have no water, and others have brown water, because of a break on SW 100th, which is closed between 35th and 37th as a result. If you experience brown water at any time, by the way, remember to report it to the city even if you think they’re on it – 206-386-1800.

Any idea when the break will be fixed?

Do you know is that the reason why the hill on 100th and 33rd is closed?

A related note – kudos to SPU and SDOT for timely dealing with a water main break in upper Genesee on Sat.  We saw water gushing down 56th SW and neighbors out dealing with it – they’d called SPU and within the hour, SPU was onsite working on a fix and SDOT not far behind to deal with the sloping roadway that would have become a sheet ice of hell if SDOT hadn’t plowed and sanded so quickly.  We all complain when gov’t is perceived to let us down – well, let’s hear it for the folks at SPU and SDOT who solved a problem very quickly, under very tough weather/circumstances and I’m sure, lots of other crises to deal with.  Thanks to both departments!

So happy to see someone giving government agencies kudos when they deserve it!

Sorry, comment time is over.
