WEEKEND ALERT UPDATE: 99, I-5 closures both canceled

First WSDOT announced the I-5 work that would have closed the NB I-5 ramp to the West Seattle Bridge was postponed … now the Highway 99 work is off, too. So, NO West Seattle-affecting closures this weekend after all.

Nice!  Wonder what caused that decision?

I’m guessing it had something to do with the current labor strike.

Waiting until a weekend when Huskies, Mariners or Seahawks play.

I would assume it would have more to do with the weather forecast of possible rain.

Likely the labor strike, the PCC site was earirilly quiet today around 1530.

Without picketing, difficult to tell what’s being affected and what’s not. Another major WS project with a crane, The Foundry on Fauntleroy, did have ongoing activity, on the ground, at least, when we passed by at midmorning. Haven’t seen any WS picketing to date.

99 is now open so all us W. Seattlites can get to the BIG Storm game on Sunday…

Sorry, comment time is over.
