West Seattle (etc.) traffic alert: Bridge closure reminders, more

The weekly roundup of all the major traffic-affecting closures and changes around the area is out – and it’s worth a look tonight more than ever, since it includes this weekend’s Alaskan Way Viaduct and 1st Avenue South Bridge closures, next Wednesday’s South Park Bridge forever shutdown, as well as other things that might affect your mobility – here’s the link. (Traffic P.S. – We haven’t been by to see it yet, but SDOT tells us the Genesee Hill paving work is done.)

Genesee Hill paving looks done. Looks like all they need to do is paint the lines on the road.

Genesee Hill feels smooth like butter. Ahh, so nice!

Why does everyone want to run on the Viaduct? I an sick of it! Between the construction, the cruise ships, and the flipping runners closing the viaduct down (seemingly) every weekend getting to Ballard takes hours!
At least while construction is going on trivial closures of the Viaduct should be banned! Surely there must be somewhere else people can have running events?

OMG – if anyone was part of the backup on Saturday you know what a mess this was
    can we say ‘Tunnel’
I can only imagine what its going to be like with no more viaduct

No kidding! It took one hour to go 3 1/2 miles on Saturday. After finally getting past the worst of it I hit the Ballard Bridge open ! What day!Bad traffic everywhere.I cannot imagine if anyone had a real emergency and could not get out. I was just going out to the north end to care for my 93 year old mother who cannot be left alone. Sibling was not pleased…oops..

Sorry, comment time is over.
