You may have heard that Seattle Parks will soon put out their first recycling containers for park visitors, beginning with parks in West Seattle as well as the city’s southeast section. They’ll collect glass bottles, plastic bottles, and aluminum cans. Suspecting this didn’t mean ALL West Seattle parks, we asked the Parks Department for a list of exactly where those containers will go, and Dewey Potter from the communications team obliged:
According to the list of locations for the recycling-program launch, West Seattle park areas where you will find recycling containers starting next month are:
–Alki Beach: shelter, Bathhouse, volleyball area
–Delridge ballfields
–Don Armeni, boat-ramp area
–EC Hughes ballfields
–Hiawatha ballfields
–Highland Park ballfields
–High Point ballfields
–Lincoln Park lower & upper shelters, ballfields
–Riverview ballfields
–Seacrest, pier entrance
–West Seattle Stadium entry gates (both sides)
You should see these recycling containers in place by April 1st (a week from Tuesday). The plan is to evaluate the program after its first year.
