kelvingroveParticipantLooking for recommendationsavoid advice for storage units in West Seattle. Security more important than price.

realvalueremodelerParticipantWe just rented a unit at Store Mor on Avalon. The people who run the business are very friendly and helpful.

celeste17ParticipantStorMor is a sponsor of WS Blog so you know they must be good.

BearsChickParticipantI suggest pricing around. The same companies in west seattle have locations between white center & burien at almost half the price. you’ll get robbed paying for storage in west seattle.

ghar72ParticipantIt isn’t WS but we have a unit down on MLK, just south of Boeing field. My sister got it 6 years ago and it was cheapest she could find. They have indoor and outdoor units. All are secured by a fence you have to enter a private code to access. Once inside the gate, you need the same code to get into the building. We’ve never had any problems. It isn’t 24 hours access though, not sure if that’s necessary. Takes about 15 minutes for us to get there from Highland Park. http://www.usstoragesearch.com/seattle-self-storage/washington-self-storage/facility-75827/member/

Leah PParticipantTravis at LockTight Storage has the best facility 206-243-5625. Clean, heated, security gate that requires a 6 digit code. Elevators are also coded by floor, so you can only get off on the floor you have granted access to. Security cameras + on-site manager. Not in West Seattle, but close! In Burien at 118th Ave S, just south of South Park. We stored there for 2 years, never saw anyone who didn’t belong there, and Travis was always available. http://www.lock-tightstorage.com/Seattle_Storage.shtml

jamjetsParticipantStorMore. The managing couple are the nicest folks you could ever do business with!

WSBKeymasterAlso a nice place to have a mail drop … our official address for five years now, long before they inquired about advertising. We checked them out because at least at the time we noticed some of West Seattle’s most famous people also had mail drops there, and if people who could certainly afford anything had chosen them, they had to be good. Haven’t used the storage, though. Good luck in finding the right place! – TR

goodgracesParticipantSTOR MORE rocks! Judy and Michael are some of West Seattle’s finest. Loved my time there.

kelvingroveParticipantThanks everyone for your responses. After researching some of the suggestions I decided on Stor More. Cheaper than Public Storage across the road and while more expensive than U-Haul it is climate controlled, has one of the lowest break-in rates in Seattle, and the owners live on the property and store their own stuff there. Plus Judy and Michael are super friendly and helpful.

Green GuyParticipantStor More in WS is where I’d go for all my storage needs. Mike & Judy are very nice people & that goes a long way with me. They will see business from me in the near future no doubt.
