We have an addition to our house that has a tiny crawlspace beneath it which is apparently the perfect habitat for rats. We’ve discovered evidence of past and current rat infestation in that crawlspace, about the size of a small bedroom. We are looking to hire someone to remove the rat feces, the insulation, and the vapor barrier; to install new insulation and vapor barrier; and to help us block entry/exit points. Any recommendations out there? The space is small and difficult to access, so we’re hoping for a company with small/old/weird house experience.
John at Adept Pest did an awesome job on my crawlspace for a reasonable price. He uses an IPM approach, rather than trying to sell poisoning programs. John gets rave reviews on the forums, and for good reason.
I used Clean Crawls. They were here in a day and did exactly
what these folks are looking for. Took out old insulation. Removed
any feces etc. Sealed entry points, sanitized, Installed new insulation and Vapor Barrier.
Great job, reasonable pricing but not cheap. My house is old also (1921)
