Anyone else hear a loud explosion at 5:45 Friday morning near the Ferry Terminal? It was a very sharp noise – not any low rumble or anything – and sounded a lot like a transformer blowing. No power outage afterwards, though, and no sirens, so I’m a little mystified. This is probably the third one of these we’ve heard in the last year, all very similar (time of day, type of noise, etc.), so I’m hoping maybe someone knows what they are. Fireworks aren’t out of the realm of possibility, but seem unlikely at that time of day.
