    Calling all EMR’s, EMT’s, Paramedics, RN’s, NP’s, PA’s, MD’s, and DO’s!

    The Seattle Office of Emergency Management (Seattle OEM) is looking for enthusiastic Emergency Preparedness Volunteers to instruct the Stop the Bleed program to the Seattle Community.

    The Key Responsibilities are:

    •Educate the community on “Stop the Bleed” bleeding control skills
    •Transport materials and equipment to training sites
    •Attend volunteer meetings
    •Assist in coordinating the Stop the Bleed program
    Volunteers must committment to one class per month for at least one year.

    Qualifications:

    •Must be at least 21 years of age
    •Possess one or more one of the following credentials: EMR, EMT, Paramedic, Registered Nurse (Current, inactive, or retired), Nurse Practitioner, Physician’s Assistant, MD/DO
    •Willingness to support the Seattle Office of Emergency Management mission
    •Ability to display professionalism, excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
    •Ability to transport and lift equipment up to 30lbs
    •Flexibility of schedule, willingness to work occasional nights and weekends
    •Demonstrated experience, interest or willingness to work with diverse populations
    •Demonstrated experience or interest in public education or public speaking
    •Valid Driver’s License or WA state-issued identification, proof of medical related qualifications
    •Reliable method of transportation
    •Punctual and dependable

    Training will include:

    •Stop the Bleed Train the Trainer course(s)
    •Orientation to Seattle OEM
    •Public Education & Outreach overview
    •Others as necessary
