We heard that too; police say it was fireworks

Checking here because you heard a series of booms a few minutes ago? We heard them too. The first mention on the scanner by a dispatcher, after someone called to report it, was answered by police saying, “It was fireworks.”

LOL, I didn’t even expect to see this. I was just browsing.  I’m in Westwood and heard booms. It was fireworks. I could hear that firework fizzle sound following each boom.

Wow! That was quick. I don’t think it took you even 5 minutes to post this. Thanks for being so on top of things.

I saw them;   looks like they were shot up into air at 37th Ave SW & Roxbury right at about 4 am.

(Heavy sigh!) Now,  how am I going to fall back asleep?!

There are a bunch of punk gangster losers in the area that tag all over the area WS…

Since everyone seems to know the location, I’m sure cops paid a visit and issued a big fine, right?

    Thought so.

I heard them too, in the 16th & Barton area.  Can’t always differentiate between fireworks and gunshots, unless I happen to hear the “fizzle” of the former.  This time, though, I really thought they were gunshots, and even considered calling it in. But, my brain being so muddled from just being woken up, wasn’t sure how coherent they would be. Mike

That was such a rude awakening! Scared the dog into the bathroom, woke the whole family up, and then I couldn’t get back to sleep. Some people are so inconsiderate.

    .

We live in AH heights and it sounded extremely close, maybe from somewhere around 37th and 98th.

The empty box of fireworks is sitting out in front of the house where they were shot off, on 37th.

It woke me up at 40th and Webster! I thought it might be gun shots, good to know it was fireworks!

I heard and saw them at approximately 4am this morning. It almost looked like they were being discharged in the Fauntleroy Green Belt, but I’m assuming it was near 97th and 37th.

being in Admiral, I didn’t hear them, but…who the F does that at 4am? . There’s a children’s book circulating called “Go the F to Sleep”. These miscreants need a copy…maybe  with big print :-\

Does anyone know if the police paid the people who disturbed – and scared – so many other people a visit?  Isn’t this against the law?

  • Teah February 14, 2016 (9:09 am)

I live on 37th right near where they were exploded. A-holes is right. But the box was dumped on 37th in front of my neighbors. They definitely didn’t do it.

Sorry, comment time is over.
