Eligible for ORCA LIFT? Get it at West Seattle Summer Fest

If you’re eligible for ORCA LIFT, the new discounted transit pass for lower-income transit riders, you can sign up at West Seattle Summer Fest this weekend – but you’ll have to bring the appropriate documentation, so that’s the reason for this separate heads-up. Metro’s in a bright green tent on the west side of the California/Alaska intersection. Go to orcalift.com for full details on how the program works.

we still need West Seattle locations for low-income folks to get the ORCA LIFT; the program started March 1 (4 months ago) and when I checked last week, there were still no locations in West Seattle to get this card

South Seattle Community College doesn’t count?

This has been a big drawback of the Orca Card in general; there are only a few places which dispense an actual card. The “Tap” card in LA (similar to the Orca) is dispensed at all bus stations for only a nominal extra amount. This makes it great if you’re just visiting, or forgot your card, etc. Get with the program, Seattle.

no, 3 hrs total, on a Wed, at a campus where I’ve been told you have to pay to park; not at all sufficient

I talked to the women at the ORCA LIFT booth during the fest; one was very helpful; she took my info and said she knew who to contact with our suggestion, at least to start, of SW Community Center; we should have at least a couple locations available throughout our large demographic of West Seattle for low income folks to get an ORCA LIFT card

the Neighborhood House at High Point would also be a good location; and why not at several of our community centers?

Sorry, comment time is over.
