West Seattle Crime Watch: Fauntleroy search; Arbor Heights theft

Two West Seattle Crime Watch notes tonight:

FAUNTLEROY SEARCH: Many were wondering about the police presence in Fauntleroy, near Lincoln Park and the ferry dock, since late afternoon. Officers told us they were looking for a “felony warrant suspect” who had been seen in the area, near the bus stop by the dock. No new incident/crime, apparently, but this was someone they were looking for. We don’t know whether they’ve found that suspect yet, and we don’t have details of the warrant.

PACKAGE THEFT: Fumiko in Arbor Heights (near 35th/100th) says she’s been hit by package thieves for the third and final time, and she’s just not going to get home deliveries any more. Her iPhone 6, delivered by UPS at 3:55 pm, was gone when she got home Thursday night and: “This is the third time an UPS or USPS delivered package went missing from my property (front porch and side door).”

Fumiko, your home is ripe for a stakeout to catch the culprit. Your thief might be a very close by neighbor.

Dsa, I was thinking the same thing. I’d put money that the thief is a neighbor

Saw a thing on the news a while back where they caught some people who were doing this. They were actually following the delivery truck around watching the deliveries get out on the porch and then running up and grabbing the ones where they figured no one was home.

With holidays approaching and if you [anyone]are anticipating package delieveries, instead of having them delivered to your residence have the delivery sent to your work. If that is not an option have the package delivered to UPS/Fedex store and pick up it there. Just a thought.

A friend of mine came home to a man hiding in his backyard last night. He took the light bulb out of it’s socket and was laying in the grass. He later told my friend “he didn’t want to hurt him but was hiding from the police”. Luckily my friend was able to call his brother who came out with his pistol and ordered the man out of their yard. Not sure if this is the same guy from the ferry dock but I’m sure happy my friend was armed and was able to avoid him or his brother getting hurt.

Where (vicinity) was this, and did they call the police?

35th and Elmgrove. Police were called but did not show up.

Police were called, but did not show up? WTF?!!

I keep thinking of this scenario because of my own experience with police apathy. I’d love to see some investigative journalism on this topic

Sorry, comment time is over.
