That’s a bummer, no auto parts in West Seattle…

There’s an O’Reilly on Roxbury as well as an AutoZone on 16th in White Center.

That company is terrible anyhow. Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to get one closer than O’Reilly’s in White Center.

Have you heard anything about the West Seattle Brewing site?  Not sure if that qualifies as in the Triangle but it’s close enough I guess

No permit filings, liquor license filings, for-lease listings, etc., so far!

I noticed a large ‘for lease’ sign in the window just yesterday!

Yes, we heard about that late last night. The listing wasn’t online as of this morning; I’m going by to check out the sign.

Ironic (and typical) that we have a shelter shutting down and a usable building that’s fenced off just down the street. I’m in no way faulting the folks who run/ran the shelter. My point is that our priorities are so off. We have empty buildings and people in desperate need of shelter, but we’re too busy throwing money at developers and big health insurance companies to provide housing and health care.

Melissa, did you read the article? The shelter has had a long running policy of only being open for overnight stays only during cold weather. Please get on the habit of reading entire articles before commenting we’d all be better for it.

        Local, Thank you.

In fact, Local, I did read it, despite your condescending assertion to the contrary. My point stands. We have a perfectly usable building standing empty and we have unhoused neighbors about whom I see complaints about on here frequently.  So yes, it’s ironic.  Many of these folks want shelter year round, not just when the weather is cold, although it’s particularly important during cold weather.

Melissa, Are you under the impression that the city can just steal someone else’s building?

The people from the shelter used to dig through the clinics garbage, leaving trash everywhere. Camp onsite and start fires and smoke fentanyl when the shelter closed during the day. If the clinic is responsible for what happens on their property, that’s probably why they put up the fence.
