Every time we’ve seen West Seattle artist Desmond Hansen, he’s been out along a street, in protective gear, painting a signal box. Tonight, a different setting, and some of his other work:
As previewed here earlier this week, Hansen is the featured artist tonight for the West Seattle Art Walk debut of the new West Seattle Realty (WSB sponsor) office at 2715 California SW. He painted a Seacrest Pier mural on the office’s north interior wall, and other creations of his are on display tonight and throughout the month – including these:
Around the corner from West Seattle Realty, we found Carla Dreams Nitkey at Good Society (2701 California SW), showing her abstract/expressionist work inspired by feng shui principles:

I love Desmond’s art but I have to say I love his little doggy more!!
What a West Seattle treasure he is!
Mr. Hansen is a community treasure and we should all thank him constantly for sharing his beauty with us. I mean just look at that amazing Hendrix hanging there behind him. Flawless. So, buy the man a coffee! Better yet, give him some cash and he can go pick out his own coffee. Thank you Mr. H, and also to all of our other fantastic local artists!
It’s really great to see the face of the artist who has been doing these paintings. Not only have they cut down on Graffiti but more importantly they are absolutely gorgeous to look at. It’s like having an art gallery on the street ! And yes, having a little doggie in the picture only adds warmth and gratitude to what he has done to help us have a great vibe on our streets and in our community. I did not know that the artist was from West Seattle. I appreciate the variety of people that are painted. The skill level is impressive and downright astounding, let alone to be right there on our street and sidewalk for all of us to enjoy. Thank you thank you thank you ❤️
One of his traffic light boxes has been tagged, been that way for a while now. :>( it’s the one of the Lowrider cars on 17th Ave SW and SW 98th St. Hopefully Desmond will see this comment and be able to fix it, it’s a shame that he would have to though.
