CORONAVIRUS: State now offering to send you free home tests, too (update: they’re out)
11:22 AM: First the feds – now the state. If you’re interested in getting free home COVID-19 tests, the state has just launched its own website where you can order up to five tests per household. (First thing they ask for is your zip code to check eligibility; we tested all five West Seattle zips, and they all show as “eligible.”) They’re offering up to five free tests per household. Read the full announcement here.
7:56 PM: Commenters are noting that tonight, the state site is telling them it’s all out. (added) Via Twitter, the Health Department says, ” If you were not able to place an order, we expect more tests will be available soon.”
Ordered. Thank you WSB!
Done!! Super fast & easy through your link-thanks!
I think it might have taken 30 seconds
Thank you!
Thanks, Tracy, that was sooo simple!
Nope to me. Site said they concluded test kits in my area. Not surprised. 98116 zip code.
It was very easy to order, but the description was for one set of four tests. Wouldn’t five sets = 20 tests? I saw no way to order individual tests, only one set of four, which was confirmed by email.
@ANONYME: Are you sure you went to the WA State “Say Yes!” Site? I went on WA State site four times to order for my mom, 2 neighbors, and us (all will be delivered by Amazon). I was never asked for my email. BTW – for those commenters that are frustrated that this first round of WA State Say Yes! test kits went so quickly, please note that there will be more available as they only had a limited supply available for this preliminary round. Also, a shout out for the “Say Yes!” Program – it allows people who live in a multi-unit building to order with same address (with added unit/apt #) – the Federal site has a huge issue with this (MANY people living in a multi unit building get an error message stating that someone at that address has already ordered – could be because that USPS (who will be delivering the Federal test kits) does not recognize the multiple units in the program they are using). @ANONYME: I am just curious if you had went to/ordered from the Federal site that will send their FOUR tests via USPS.
I just followed the link provided in the WSB article. I paid no attention to the source of the tests. I later received the confirming email from USPS.
I tried it at 6:30 pm on 1/21 and it said I missed the window.
When I tried to order at 6:30 a message came up that they had concluded their effort in my community (98146) and to contact the local health department to see if they had any extra tests.
I just tried ordering but got this message when I put in my WS zip: Thank you for your interest in Say Yes! COVID Test. We have had an overwhelming response to the initiative and have already exhausted the limited supply available for home delivery.Pretty frustrating!
They are all out for now unfortunately (as of Friday 6:50 PM)
As of 7:20 pm, No longer available for zip code 98126 :(
Tried at 7pm and it said they’ve exhausted their supply.
It said eligible after entering zip but after filling out the info it says they concluded the project in our community.
Already all gone….
“Thank you for your interest
Thank you for your interest in Say Yes! COVID Test. We have had an overwhelming response to the initiative and have already exhausted the limited supply available for home delivery.”
After input info, site said they had concluded this in our community. Looks like they are gone
What a joke, our state and federal governments just keep failing
GR…. So since you missed out it’s their fault? Did you order your four from the feds or are you waiting to order after Covid is gone?
If one order truly represents a set of four tests, I would be happy to share once received. I’ll repost when that happens. Thanks to the WSB announcement I was able to order within the first hour.
Just got my COVID test kits from the Federal program in the mail today! Woo!
Just got my five-pack test kit from WA State today–2 days after ordering! Still waiting for the one from the feds.
