I heard the suspects running East on SW Holly Street (across from McDonald’s) approximately 10-12 minutes ago, followed by police cars a few minutes later. Police still running around the neighborhood on foot and in cars.

I saw one of them running away, it was in the business park with the Dominos, gas station and teriyaki place.

When my dog started going nuts (I live on the alley behind McDonald’s) I was curious what was up. When the canine team stormed they the neighbors yard I’m all whoa dude, so much for cozy west seattle. I often talk to myself in the third person like that. Cause who doesn’t ? Anyhow yeah a bit scary.

Aren’t juveniles supposed to be in school at that time?

Most are. But there are a variety of circumstances that could have meant otherwise (class schedule, skipping class, dropouts, etc.). I’ve just obtained the police report (followup to come) and it reaffirms that the three suspects were juveniles, and booked into juvenile detention. The victim, initially described as a juvenile, turned out not to be – he was 18 or 19 (a birth year of 1999 is mentioned but not which month).

Juveniles? Awe man, they face no punishment other than released back to their parents. Just like the Toshi’s robbery suspect who was out walking in Westwood the following day.

All three were booked into juvenile detention, according to the report, which I’ve just obtained.

I don’t know what it means, but I find it interesting that a story about a juvenile being robbed in the middle of the afternoon garners only 7 comments, but a story about a temporarily removed mailbox gets 25 comments. I feel like there’s a thesis in there somewhere.
