skeeter.. by better do you mean that the products you buy now have more features.. many times what you will ever use.. or that they are built to last?
planned obsolescence has replaced the kind of quality that once lasted a lifetime…
i owned one set of pans in the first 25 years of my life…
i bought new with my marriage and have replaced them twice in the last 20 years…
and not because i wanted a newer better set of pans:(
btw.. my first set was dirt cheap because i was very poor at the time i bought them.. the last three.. for the price they should have been built to last :(
