Let’s not forget Eric from Admiral. He’d probably be a good person to talk with. We already know he’s super nice!
OK, so is this about wine/martini bars, cigar/cigarette smoking, or dine for life? I think I could have comments on any of ’em, as follows:
I was intrigued to see the idea of a ginger cosmo at Buddha Ruska – I’m not a big Thai fan, but that would be enough to get me in the place.
I smoked cigarettes for about 12 years, have quit for 20, but I have to admit after a long/fun night out, if the opportunity presents itself, I sometimes have a few – what, hits? drags? puffs? – of a cigar, cuz it seems kinda fun and keeps me away from cigarettes. It doesn’t make me want to smoke again.
And, I love the idea of the wine/martini bar and promise to be a patron if you guys make it happen! :)
spookbrian, I LOVE Skillet. I work near it’s SoDo location. I used to go during the summer before the city shut them down.
A ginger martini at Buddha’s? That sounds AWESOME!
I really like the idea of a Wine/Martini/tapas bar — especially like the idea of field trips to visit existing sites. I’m in, as a regular patron, and as a “go fer/instigator” if you guys need help project leading/making lists nudging. To show you-all how good I am at the nudging part, “So what’s the next step — have you gotten together — has anyone started lists toward business plan?” :-)
Oh, yeah — and I also volunteer to write the history of the whole gig, from idea to wildly successful run!
Charla – I actually did order a used copy of ‘Dummies guide to Owning and managing a bar’. Just to see how much work this could be.
always the practical one…
Way to go, Erik! When should we meet up to discuss all this? You could share what you learn from the book!
