West Seattle Crime Watch: Stolen white Corolla – and car seat

Hoping to get some helpful eyes out for our white 1994 Toyota Corolla, license plate AEV0208, stolen overnight from the street near our home in the Roxhill neighborhood. We’ve notified police and would really like to find it – it’s got our toddler’s only car seat in back!
Call 911 if you see it.
There was a car seat and some other things dumped on my block. I have pics I can send you.

Just a reminder that since you don’t know what happened to the seat I wouldn’t consider it safe for use. Insurance should replace it!
Like many owners of older vehicles we chose to minimally, legally insure our vehicle for accidents and the like but not the elective comprehensive coverage for things like theft, which often means paying premiums worth more than the vehicle itself. This means the loss of our vehicle and it’s contents is entirely our burden. Furthermore most comprehensive coverage won’t kick in until 30 days after a theft to wait out the possible discovery of the car, some families can’t afford to replace a seat during that time. Fortunately we have already replaced and recovered our old seat which the thieves did in fact dump. Why explain all this to perfect strangers? Well, while I assume your concern was for our child s welfare and thank you for that reminder, the presumption that we’re covered for the losses some heartless clown visited on a hard-working family, is incorrect and makes us wanting our car seat back read like a shameful thing, or that we did something wrong here.
