UPDATE, 2/5/2021: Owner Caleigh emailed this morning, “I received a call from West Seattle Animal Hospital today saying someone had brought a cat in, scanned her microchip, and found she was our cat Abbey. We reported her missing to the blog the first week in August, and had given up hope months ago!”

ORIGINAL POST, 8/2/2020:

We just moved into a townhome next to the Morgan Junction Thriftway, and our cat escaped immediately after coming to the home. We last saw her Sunday evening. Her name is Abbey, she’s a long haired tuxedo cat.=

Hi Caleigh,Tried to call to help, VM full, just heads up in case someone found your cat. Can you put out something of the cats or yours to recognize (scent) transport box, toys, food especially and water.  Let your neighbors know, most lost cats/ dogs are found in West Seattle.  Many care here about pets and help.  Also may be helpful post pix and talk to neighboring businesses nearby, Thrifteay, McDonalds, Starbucks, etc  I’m sure you’ve already done, but a suggestion.  Poor thing needs to find way back home.  Sometimes hide under decks, etc. Contacting local vets like West Seattle animal Hospital, Liens Animal Clinic may also help  in case someone brings in or even to post for you.  I hope you find your baby soon. Praying for reunited soon.🙏

Thank you. We’ve got her litter box outside and some other things. Thanks for calling- we have a three year old and ten pm is a little late for us.

10pm is a bit late to call, but you might want to consider emptying your voice mail in case someone calls with important information about your cat.Another suggestion is to leave her escape route open, especially after dark.  Best of luck.

More to this happy story please… for us (me) nosey people! Was your cat found close by your new home or back at your old home???  Did the finders have your cat all this time???I had a cat that returned after being missing for 6 plus months and showed up meowing one night at the front door, smelled of fireplace smoke-soot. All I could think of is that he crawled inside a crawlspace and got stuck??? if only they could talk!Happy you got your kitty back!

Great news!  Happy you two are reunited. A reminder to everyone to microchip and keep the contact info current.

She’s home and happy! We can’t believe it. She was only a few blocks from our new house, so she never went far! She had been frequenting a neighbor’s house. They fed her, loved her up, and brought her in to the vet to get checked up and scanned. We can’t believe how healthy and fluffy she is! What’s a happy ending  ❤️
