West Seattle, Washington
28 Thursday
I found a deceased, very small tortoiseshell cat at a bus stop on Admiral—cross street 57th, on the south side of the street heading away from Alki to Admiral Junction.
It appears that she may have been hit and/or in any event, most likely somebody placed her/him in the grassy area by the sidewalk.
I went back and retrieved her this evening and plan to take her to a vet to check for a microchip. I won’t be hanging on to her much past noon tomorrow. Since my vet is closed on the weekends, I’ll be seeking out an alternative in W. Seattle, or if all else fails, I will call animal control and see if they can come out to retrieve her/him.
It was both difficult given my personal circumstances of recent loss, and my honor. She was so sweet & did not deserve to be left like that in a pile of leaves at a bus stop. Thank you for your comment.
South Seattle Veterinary Hospital at 110th & 1st Ave S is open 24/7. You could take her there to get the chip checked.
Thank you. I’ve taken care of her at another vet. South Seattle was great during the emergency respiratory failure of my cat just 7 months ago when he transitioned. Finding and helping this little one came on the 7 month Friday night anniversary of his passing. I’m working with a vet and waiting to see if anyone claims her, but there was no chip, so I will likely pay for her cremation.
