Even reading these posts gives me a headache. That area is undoubtably the most confusing configuration of roadway in Seattle. After living here over 15 years I still have to double check to make sure I’m not going to end up in the wrong lane heading the wrong direction. I believe better signage is needed!January 6, 2011 at 11:14 pm in reply to: RANT: Chupacabras tethered to signs/bike racks outside stores #697706
“A hairless what? Scientists solve chupacabra mystery. Animal shot in Nelson County confirmed not legendary ‘goat sucker’ creature “
The Chupy legend lives on…
YES! I’ve been following the Spot updates and hoping for a happy ending!! Wonder where that crazy cat has been hiding these past weeks??
I love our West Seattle Junction shopping and am grateful for the small business owners who help make our community vibrant and strong.December 28, 2010 at 2:55 am in reply to: Anyone who can tinker with a 15 year-old Krups Il Primo? #712297
I too had that little Krups forever and I LOVED it. Boy was I shocked by the price of new espresso machines! Krups no longer makes a little machine with metal housing, now everything under a $100 is cheap plastic and looks like it’ll break after two weeks. I ended up with a Starbuck’s Barista machine, which they no longer sell. Here’s hoping that the Starbuck’s machine will last 15 years like the Krups (I doubt it).
http://www.seattlepi.com/connelly/431578_JOEL13.html “Fox News slants language of health care”
“Those who watched Fox News almost daily were significantly more likely than those who never watched it to believe that most economists estimate the stimulus caused job losses (12 points more likely), most economists have estimated the health care law will worsen the deficit (31 points), the economy is getting worse (26 points), most scientists do not agree that climate change is occurring (30 points), the stimulus legislation did not include any tax cuts (14 points), their own income taxes have gone up (14 points), the auto bailout only occurred under Obama (13 points), when TARP came up for a vote most Republicans opposed it (12 points) and that it is not clear that Obama was born in the United States (31 points). The effect was also not simply a function of partisan bias, as people who voted Democratic and watched Fox News were also more likely to have such misinformation than those who did not watch it–though by a lesser margin than those who voted Republican.”December 9, 2010 at 1:24 am in reply to: RANT: Stop Thread Jacking posts on the WSB Forums!!! #710402
This was posted on someone’s Facebook status, I thought it was funny.
BreakingNEWS: WSU practice was delayed after a player found a white powdery substance on the field. Coach Wulff suspended practice and called police. After a complete analysis, forensic experts determined that the white substance, unknown to coach and players was the Goal line. After a team meeting it was decided to resume practice cause it was unlikely they will encounter the substance again. GO DAWGS!
It drives me insane every time one of the signature gatherers in front of Target ask me to sign a petition to vote on the whether or not we want a tunnel. How many times do I need to say yes to this thing??? I’m still mad that we don’t have the monorail which would be in place right now that I voted for at least three times!!!
I’m stunned that this is the first I’d heard of this NPR investigation. This first aired back in October, but it must not have made much of an impact because I totally missed it. The immorality of manipulating our government to make a law simply to allow a business to expand it’s customer base is stunning to me. When did the U.S. start allowing private for-profit prisons? Their plan to lock up as many people as they can grab is seen as a money making “opportunity” to be implemented in other states as well. Unbelievable!!
Blue Willow Luncheonette has is available for evenings and weekends. Wonderful food, comfortable space.
I wonder if you have contacted the owner of the rental house to fill him/her in on what’s been going on. Perhaps they could help in some way. Good luck, I feel for you.
redblack: thanks for sharing the car story! Sad but true!!
Patience of JoB: I’m sharing the Rolling Stone article with friends. If Obama isn’t going to shout out what his admin has accomplished, I guess we better do it!October 6, 2010 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Tuscan Tea House in the junction is going to be very special! #705110

Our family is very happy with Above the Bar Tutoring. My son has been working with them this summer and he has found thier teaching methods to resonate with his learning style and needs. Location is very easy to get to just off Aurora on the other side of the Aurora bridge. We wholeheartedly recommend this tutoring business!!June 24, 2010 at 8:32 pm in reply to: RANT: Chupacabras tethered to signs/bike racks outside stores #697497
I’m wondering , is there someone/place else I should notify about this lost ring?
I didn’t get ticketed, but only because the officer was already busy ticketing the guy who turned ahead of me…too close for comfort.
I just sent my post to the above website. Maybe if they hear from more than just me they’ll change the signs and allow a right turn during construction. It would make getting to Costco a lot easier!!!
(this has been bugging me for a while, but today was the worst yet on 1st Ave!!)
