We’ve used David “Kim” Reich at City Aboriculture and they did a great job. 206-387-6243April 7, 2011 at 3:39 am in reply to: Neighbor with plastic on side of House SO LOUD when the wind blows! #721926
Did you notice the part where she said this work has been going on for 20 years. Sounds to me like she’s been patient and long suffering. If karma is biting anyone it may be the guy with the noisy plastic.
I like going to Many Moons. They take all my stuff, including mens and kids. What they can’t sell is donated to charity. One stop closet empty is my kind of place. Also, I have found some amazing clothes there as well. I found a little black dress for $15 that is knock down gorgeous. I feel like Jackie O. everytime I put it on.
I have sent several families to Amanda at Above the Bar Tutoring and everyone has been very grateful and impressed with her work. She has made my life (as a parent of a teen) so much easier and has helped my teen tremendously improve his grades. She also worked with him preparing him for the SAT test, which helped him to get above average scores on all three sections on his first try. Her number is 206 660-1757. Good luck!!
Have you caught the Animal Planet show about house infestations? The one I watched was about ants, bees and garter snakes. Fascinating freaky television.
The Tuscan Tea Room has private parties that look just beautiful when I’ve walked by. Also, Blue Willow can be used for private parties.
I wonder sometimes if I try too hard to be nice, maybe I’d like it if I were more difficult.
Oh, and the mom in me forces me to add:
Lay off the caffine drinks. Get to bed early and get lots of rest. Eat your vegetables.
I agree wholeheartedly with Zenguy. Sharing lifts much of the weight from my shoulders when I have a problem. Even this anonymous kind of sharing probably helps. In my view, letting the people who care about you know what’s happening in your life allows them to rise to the occasion, to be better people by caring and helping someone besides themselves. I send you blessings, prayers and positive thoughts!! Good luck!!!
“He’s just hard-lined—will not talk, will not communicate, will not return phone calls.”
-Wisconsin state Sen. Tim Carpenter (D) on Gov. Walker
Carpenter’s quote made me wonder: who could get through to Gov. Walker? Well, what do we know about Walker and his proposed union-busting, no-bid budget? The obvious candidate was David Koch.”
Gov. Walker got punked by a alternative newspaper editor pretending to be David Koch.
Just go on street view of google maps and take a quick look…a picture’s worth a thousand words, and the picture of Alki Lumber is pretty ugly.
I will call Alki Lumber and mention this thread to the management. I have often thought that a nice wooden fence around the perimeter of the business could showcase their product while improving the overall look of the entrance to West Seattle. As it stands right now, I agree with Sun-e, it is an eyesore.
You should talk to Amanda at Above the Bar tutoring. My son and daughter have been helped by going to her. I’ve been very happy with her service and price.

“I know you think Sarah Palin is at best a self promoting ignoramus, and at worst a shameless media troll who will abuse any platform to deliver dog whistle encouragement to a far right base that may include possible insurrectionists.
“I know you think her transparent desperation to be a celebrity so completely eclipsed her interest in public service so long ago, that there would be more journalistic integrity in reporting on one of the lesser Kardashian’s ass implants.” This one made me laugh out loud!!
My uncle, a lifelong republican and a very smart man, voted for McCain/Palin. When asked about Palin, he shrugged, smiled and looked away mumbling something about her being pretty ridiculous. Yet he still voted for the republican ticket. I think we ignore Sarah at our nation’s peril. Like Barbara Bush, I’d like her to go back to Alaska. Until she does, I can’t help but take her seriously.
“But at a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized -– at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who happen to think differently than we do -– it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we’re talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds.”
President Barack Obama
No, give me a break…
“Rush Limbaugh reacted to the instantly infamous mugshot of Jared Lee Loughner, the suspected gunman in the Arizona shooting, by saying that the reason Loughner is smiling in the picture is because he knows he is backed by the Democratic Party.”
“Sarah Palin … has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district and when people do that, they’ve gotta realize there are consequences to that action.”
— Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, 3/25/10
Thanks for the heads up. I wasn’t even aware of their existence. Must try soon.
