PatrickKeymasterWhat Lindsey said.
Guys – the Jobs section is now the third most read part of the site and far, far away the single most viewed section of the Forum. As always we err on the side of credibility. While 2MW had some good points we do need to keep these posts to the topic – the job listing.
Therefore I’m closing this one and here’s hoping Jessie finds a master mixologist.
PatrickKeymasterAs the Guild Navigator told Padashaw Emperor Shaddaam IV, “I see plots within plots.”
Intel’s potential new in-set receiver would create a la carte cable whether the cables companies like it or not. Then there’s Aereo, a cloud-based tv service which, if it clears the legal hurdles, will have every possible tv show on demand.
Roll those up together and you can smell the fear.

PatrickKeymasterLet me rise to make a point of order.
My name is Patrick Sand, along with my wife, Tracy Record we own and operate this site. I removed the pit bull thread as I thought it was in the best interest of the site to do so. There were no complaints, no emails, no phone calls, nor texts. That decision was mine and mine alone.

PatrickKeymasterSheriff deputy pulled a car over and the driver decided to speed off. We’ll have some details up in a couple of minutes.

PatrickKeymasterToday it is my pleasure to inform you that Mr. Smitty has earned his merit badge in media punditry.
West Seattle has 85,000 people and the Junction Association has almost 300 members. It is one of four shopping areas. It does not include businesses such as contractors or personal services. If you picked up West Seattle and moved it we would be the second largest city in Montana and the seventh largest in Oregon. If we split off from the city we’d be one of the top ten largest in Washington.
When it comes to doing neighborhood news it’s not just the work – it’s what you have to work with. To date none of the national media insider publications have figured out what Smitty wrote a few posts back. Those publications still blame failure on the publishers’ business plans which is like blaming a flat tire on a burned out light bulb in the kitchen.
I owe you a cup of coffee Smitty.

PatrickKeymasterThe comments on the Slog’s are particularly amusing if – at least in my case – you know the names and home addresses of some of the pseudonymous commenters.
It’s not easy being the Ben Linus of West Seattle.
PatrickKeymasterThat would depend on where you live. WAVE Broadband serves part of the 98126 area and Century Link has high speed fiber to parts of West Seattle. We’ve had the high speed fiber from C-Link for over 2 years and it’s roughly the same a Comcast.

PatrickKeymasterFrom the description we received via text messages the helicopters are probably from Lewis-McChord on training flights.
PatrickKeymasterAbout the only thing The New Mountain is missing is an all Grand Funk weekend.
PatrickKeymasterAbout 99% of the game is where you’re located. If you’re below the High Point hill, down one of the slopes in Fauntleroy or along Alki you’re mostly out of luck with rabbit ears.
PatrickKeymasterTo honor the occasion the kid and I’ll be getting her a sports replica jersey. I saw those mentioned online several times yesterday.
PatrickKeymasterAt our house we’ve watched more than a few episodes of Spongebob. One of the most brilliant things Spongebob’s creators did was to cast Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway as the voices of Spongebob’s heroes, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
PatrickKeymasterSeveral times we’ve tried to come up with a shot of MIWS wearing his best Conan the Barbarian gear while wrestling a Lincoln Park coyote to the ground, but it just never seems to come together quite right.

PatrickKeymasterRecently they were swarming all over a dab of shaving cream on the sink. Maybe they had a hot date, who knows?
PatrickKeymasterTalking to an exterminator at a WSCoC function I learned the following about our friends, the stupid stinky little ants:
– They change their appetite to suit their needs. The change can happen in less than a week.
– They are attracted to electricity and all things electrical.
– No pest service will give you a long-term guarantee as the stupid little ants will find a way to come back.
We went away for a couple of days last summer and the little creeps colonized my old Brother printer and the power strip it was attached to. Both the printer and strip had to go straight to the trash. That’s how my conversation with the exterminator started, he said, “Yeah they love electricity, it just draws ’em in.”
PatrickKeymasterAs the person who is most frequently buttonholed publicly about YOU BLOGGERS I always make the same two points.
1. Would you call an accountant a spreadsheeter? Would you call H&R Block on April 14th and say, “You better get those spreadsheeters busy I gotta get my return in the mail!”
2. Once upon a time people said things over the back fence or over the phone because that’s all there was. Some of that was negative as well. At least with the comments, either on the top page or here, you have it in writing.
And with that I believe this brings me to my average of two Forum comments per year. Here’s hoping you have a great 2012 and I look forward to seeing you in 2013.
PatrickKeymasterSorry t’weren’t me.
While I was trained to be a tv weather man in college I had to think seriously about how wearing plaid sports jackets on the 5pm news would impact my dignity. Therefore I decided against pursuing it.
BTW – good to see you at the Feedback last night MIWS!
