I stopped by today to check on Gary and MaryJane. He is a nice guy and said what he needs most is fuel (those small green fuel tanks for camping) to stay warm at night. I brought him some chicken noodle soup and some other lunch items. It would be nice if the community could join together to help him get a key made for his truck.

You do realize that you can’t just bring a cat to a new home and let it out? I am sorry your pet sitter backed out. You may want to consider having someone come to your home to care for kitty every few days, or even let the person stay at your home.

`Two things to think about that I have seen in the news recently: backpacks with cats being stolen from the car or from a person wearing them, cats can get frightened and run, pulling the leash out of your hands. I would recommend getting a similar aged kitten for her to play with safely inside and consider a catio if your space allows it.

Thank you for helping this fellow! Might be best to contact the PAWS wildlife center or Sarvey. I used to have a hamster with the same issue and trimmed his teeth myself with toenail clippers. My concern for this guy would be that if he doesn’t stick around your house so that you can help him again, the condition will eventually lead to his death.

I haven’t noticed. What I have noticed though, is that people are struggling right now. Maybe you could help them out by bringing your lawn care tools up there and doing some work.

I am sorry that this happened to your friend. Was she a customer at the pet food store? Do you think the guy could have been the owner upset that she was in customer parking without being a customer?

JayDee-from your own post, “Helps fund the care and adoption of shelter animals.”

Since your own cats are rescues, licensing fees may have helped pay for their care at one time. If they are not from the city shelter, you can look at the fees as paying it forward for other rescued cats.

Nate-Welcome to Seattle and to teaching in Seattle Public Schools. It sounds like you have done some research on Seattle neighborhoods. West Seattle and Queen Anne are both very beautiful ones. I would like to caution you about commuting between West Seattle and Queen Anne (as someone who drives the route-but longer on either end), especially with the warning that the viaduct will be coming down before the new tunnel is open. Have you considered White Center or Burien? Both are south and would be a much easier commute than Queen Anne.

Can someone loan Mr. Hank Swagger a speaker until his new one comes so that he doesn’t have to miss a week? I want you to attain your goal of 52 straight weeks of joyful dancing. Alternatively, is there a place to rent one? Would people pitch in for a rental?

Take her to the shelter as a stray. She deserves a better home.

All of the rescues are full (including MEOW and SAFe). Ideally Beckyjo would find a new home for her cat through friends, family, coworkers, etc. It is definitely best for the cat that it go straight to a new home rather than to a shelter situation, which is tough for most adult cats.

If she works to find a new home via the Blog, it will be important to thoroughly screen potential homes for among other things, commitment. I would suggest getting a hold of an adoption application from a shelter or rescue group so she knows what to ask/look for.

    Best of luck.

The raccoon quite possibly has babies too. As Chemist stated it would be best to wait until all are out and then fix the roof so that the raccoons can’t reenter.

JFC-I guess your point wasn’t clear. The birds still don’t need you to feed them because as you point out, they eat the spiders and mosquitos.

Agree with HappyOnAlki-Take down the bird feeder. They attract rodents and raccoons too. The birds can find their own food.

What about getting some volunteers to come by and care for the cats in your home? Kitties and you might be happier about staying together. I volunteer to come by once a week to clean litter boxes and otherwise care for your cats. You can order food and litter online from places such as chewy.com or Petco to be delivered to your doorstep.

mpento, considering that two goslings in this family were just hit by a vehicle and killed, your comment is neither funny nor appropriate.

Does anyone have any ideas why the geese are crossing the street? It sounds like it might be for food. Do they go up the stairs on the east side of the street? Perhaps someone at the bus stop is feeding them? I am happy to make flyers to post at the bus stop and at nearby homes discouraging the feeding of the geese.

MudBay is wonderful! I am fortunate to work closely with three of their stores (Admiral, lower Queen Anne, and Burien) in the rescue work I do. The employees/company are kind and generous. I hope your dog feels better soon.
