QFC is not the same store since Kroger bought them.. the employees now have little to say about corporate policy which is enforced from the top down. it’s sad really. i loved that store
why is noone talking about people who drive yellow jeeps who ‘off road” on our city streets?
one thing i am pretty sure of.. they don’t communicate much with each other. my new yard waste bin showed up today.. thank goodness. still no garbage can which was reported the same day.. but it’s progress.
they say your bin will be replaced within two garbage pickup cycles..
but i just got an email telling me that mine will come by the 16th.. which is midweek after my second pickup.. and if it doesn’t appear i should call them…
meanwhile the racoons are having a great time rooting through my yard waste bags.
btw.. i am scaling down my garden and have pots and soil and plants that need good homes
let me know if you are interested
dhg.. i am certain rich and i aren’t the only opinionated west seattleites out there :)
you know how to reach me.. phoenix isn’t so very far ;-)
i would love to see you again.
it could be the trash hauler picking it up because it was broken. they picked up mine a couple of weeks ago. you go online with your account number and report a missing bin. they say they will deliver a new one within two garbage deliveries. we’ll see.
i enjoyed reading through all 5 ages of this post… i had forgotten the kinds of discussions that once happened here… too bad it was retrieved for an advertisement.April 15, 2019 at 5:48 am in reply to: Seeking odd jobs to help pay my dogs medical bills #946535April 10, 2019 at 12:15 pm in reply to: DELRIDGE UPTOWN ESPRESSO FEMINIST BOOK GROUP HAS A FEW OPENINGS #946214April 9, 2019 at 12:09 pm in reply to: Bidding a fond farewell to Seattle but more specifically, West Seattle. #946104

congratulations on finding a good landing place… I am afraid our cost of living here is going to drive a good many of us elsewhere.. retired folks and young families alike. wish it wasn’t so.
frankly .. i am tired of someone else’s outrage determining what i can purchase. They wouldn’t stock the items if they didn’t sell. it really is that simple. they must sell.
so if what they sell offends you.. don’t go there. there are plenty of other choices.
personally i will not shop Hobby Lobby because their corporate stance towards women’s healthcare offends me.. but hey.. they aren’t that far away and they have a huge parking lot.. and i am guessing nothing in there will offend your delicate sensibilities.
pelicans.. my leaving will settle the question of whether jan and i are the same person once and for all ;-0 i am sure she will keep you more than entertained and hopefully a bit enlightened :)
waynster.. coffee is a great idea
i will let you know next time i am in town.. i fly south to the next dental appointment on monday
i have had more than one d-bag day myself… sometimes here ;)
thanks for reporting where to post complaints..
i just wish more people would open up their hearts and work harder towards prevention..
better and far more economical for us all..
imagine what the dollars now spent on clean up could do.
name calling or telling people to STFU is against forum policy..
if you don’t like what someone said.. call them out on what they said..
but don’t call them names or tell them to shut up.
i agree with melissa… there is far too much name calling done.. and right now i am speaking of those who find themselves without homes and without hope. too often find myself ashamed at the self righteousness of our community..
and before you ask.. i will gladly stack my record for doing something about the problem up against yours any time..
and yes i know all about what happens to needles and excrement when safe public options aren’t available.
the point is that we would be better served providing safe options than denigrating those who have none.
i have watched the video and i read the comments above..
the shelters they described do not exist in Seattle.
if we want to get the homeless off our streets there is an economical solution that works
give them the kind of shelter where they can begin to rebuild their lives.
what we do now is chase them out of the camps they create for stability and put them back on the merry go round of looking for another place to camp or a shelter they are locked out of during the day.. without providing the time and space for them to even clean themselves to go job hunting.,., hauling all of their belongings with them.
it’ a lose lose scenario.. for which we currently blame and incarcerate them.
just a question.. have you been in one of those shelters?
would you sleep in one?
a few years back the only path off the streets for a friend was one of those shelters..
one of the better ones…
and i feared constantly for the friend who had to go live there to get help.
here we go again
what do you think is going to happen when the opposition research that was never aired by either party in the last presidential election hits? .. and it won’t hit until he becomes THE candidate.
