http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/bald_eagle/sounds There’s an eagle nest in that vicinity. Wondered if they could be making the sounds you hear.
You know, most dogs don’t poop and pee on command. You can’t tell them to wait until you get five blocks over to the “green space.” The best you can do is try to steer them and then pick up what you’re able. I’m just glad it’s become the norm that most feces is collected. It wasn’t long ago that people thought you were nuts for picking up sh*t.
Thanks, everyone. I didn’t think Camp Long would be open to non-campers late enough, but I’ll check that. I’ll give Me Kwa Mooks a try.
Further research shows katydids found in British Columbia in the last decade. Possibly made their way south? I hope I see another — I’ll pay more attention to details.
I’ve seen them in Eastern and SW Washington, but never in the Puget Sound area. Yes, it was bright green! I wonder if they’ve hitched a ride on imported plants, like the large snails from California.
Thank you — it is the long-plus-two-shorts that I hear most often, which is discussed in that historylink article.
Raccoons pulled the first two pumps from our pond and they burnt out from running dry. The third pump is firmly anchored (so far). The little rascals constantly mess about out there and manage to pull out the floating balls and toss them around. And, they totally stole our (heavy) turtle figurine.
Don’t forget the banana spider that might have gotten attached to the bunch by a sticker. True fact.
Friends reportedly got rid of a large patch by injecting Round-Up into each one with a hypodermic needle.
Just to be clear, I don’t look for (or wish to start) anything negative. It’s just helpful to know a bit about the atmosphere of a place, and what people recommend ordering.January 17, 2014 at 6:54 am in reply to: Need place for car maintenance (and repairs, if needed) #801794
Thanks! I wonder if I put them in a ziploc bag and dropped them in the food bank box at Thriftway. They could go along with the food donations.(?)
Yes, there’s a password lock. I’ll go to the ATT store when weather permits. The whole thing’s taken apart and in a bowl of rice to dry out. It’s wet & muddy.
Thanks, everyone. Especially for the questionnaire link, Mike, it was very helpful. Good luck!
It’s vital for everyone in favor of Ref. 71 to MAKE SURE TO VOTE! Statistically, it’s looking like a very tight contest. It’s an off-year election and fewer younger (and often more liberal) voters will be likely to participate.
I, for one, will be incredibly embarrassed for our state if we follow California’s path.
I tried QFC today and used the 42nd Ave. parking floor. What a nightmare. Made the Jefferson Sq. lot seem like fun. Don’t think I’ll go there often, too difficult with my minivan.
Man, I just watched that 100 movie lines on UTube, and I could add dozens more to that list.
I think I must go rent about 30 to watch today.
