Uh, so you complained about crime in Seattle while breaking the law? Sigh. I’m sure you’ll find a fair number of kindred spirits, as that seems a sadly popular pastime.

Hi folks, a quick Google trip to their website (WS Junction Blog gives two relevant bits of information: first, according to their blog the job posting closed back in December (December 10), second (and probably moot at this point) cover letter and resume should have been emailed to them at wsjunction@gmail.com. Best of luck to the both of you.

I’m going to go out on a limb here, just hazarding a guess, really, but my suspicion is that the point is… (wait for it…) SEATTLE POLICE NEED MORE TRAINING.

    Hi,

We’ve used Adam’s moving and we liked them. They were friendly and we did a thing where they dropped off a lot of re-useable boxes and let us pack most of the stuff ourselves, which saved a fair bit of money. They also of course will pack everything for you if you’d rather. Good luck with the move!

If you want to approach it from the other direction, rather than talking to the bank, the following website lets you report the issue to the city (and from what I’ve heard they’re pretty responsive):

Yes, it would be foolish to think that everything that happens, even in just West Seattle, could be covered.

Nevertheless I do hope you can shed more light on this story–especially since the original commenter mentioned that there have been several(?) similar(?) incidents.

That sounds just awful, I feel for her. I’m surprised this assault didn’t garner more media attention–is there a case number for this attack? I’d be curious how the PD is following up.

I am very sorry that happened to your daughter. Was she hurt, or did they just steal her lunch money?

As for the gang aspect, do you just mean gang as in a group of kids or gang as in coordinated criminal enterprise? I’m assuming it was the former, as stealing lunch money doesn’t seem like anything the latter would dabble in. I’m often at Hiawatha, at least once a week, and have never noticed anything coming close to what I’d consider gang activity.

Only place we’ve been is West Seattle Optix, and it was… not a good experience. They keep ridiculously sporadic hours, are vague about prices, and in general decidedly unhelpful. Haven’t found a good local place yet, but thought I’d chime in with what little I do know. G’luck!

    PS
Actually I’ve found Costco, of all places, to be pretty decent for simple eye stuff–you don’t even need to be a member to avail yourself of their services, and while they’re not exactly local they’re only a quick jaunt (well, depending on time of day) across the bridge

No. What is sad is you and your stilted verbiage and baffling claims.

That you raise phantom complaints is sad. That you then shy away from an actual discussion when people SPECIFICALLY ask you about those complaints–that is sad.

Your disgraceful approach to–nay, not even an approach to–your disgraceful flight from discussion is what serves as an example of horrible behavior.

You seem nothing more than a troll. Your intention is not to debate merits or flaws, but merely to annoy and pester… And then when someone finally calls you on it, oh, hey, you get to turn around and waggle your finger and shake your head and say, tsk tsk, how uncivil people are.

    You don’t fool me.

Actually I’m all for expanding backyard cottages! They are fantastic and many forward-thinking cities in the PNW are embracing them. We should join them!

Just a few reasons why it’s so important we move forward on letting people build these units:
    1) You own your own property! Want to build a small cottage to rent out? You should be able to do that!

    2) If you read the WSB at all regularly you know how many homeowners need a break–being able to rent out a backyard cottage is a great way to make ends meet while continuing to stay in your home.

    3) It’s a wonderful way to increase density while not having thick corridors of 5 story condos/apartments everywhere.

    4) They are fantastic for extended families. Have older parents or even grandparents who don’t need much space but want to be near to family? A backyard cottage is a wonderful idea.

I’ve not heard a single good argument against letting these much needed changes go through–including the “arguments” you included, Alan. (Health and safety concerns? Really? And what, pray tell, might those be? And you actually make the argument that we shouldn’t have these additional rental units because the rent would be too high? Really?! If that’s not single most backward argument I’ve heard all week…)

I fully and enthusiastically support the changes–and I encourage everyone else to do the same–and let Lisa Herbold and others know you support the new zoning–it is prime time to make this sensible change in our backwards laws.

So just judge him on who he was last week when he denied the accusations. If the events happened then he is lying. And that alone is enough to not have him on the court.

This simplification fixes all of your concerns about how you have change in 30 years.

I’ve noticed that also, I keep thinking it must be a temporary thing… but now I’m not so sure. I mean, it can’t be a permanent thing? Right? That would be too ridiculous.

    ps
I don’t think the developers are hurting for cash, couldn’t they (shouldn’t they) store the dumpsters in the garage and hire someone to bring them out on collection day?

    TSurly, others,

I find it helps to remind both myself and others how few people voted for Trump. It was around 1/4 of eligible voters–in other words more than 8 out of 10 people did NOT vote for him.

As for the rest– good summation of the issue re income tax, I just supplied links because I was too lazy. And yes, I too am friends with Republicans of various stripes (man, it’s like the new “But I have a black friend!”, isn’t it? I only bring it up since Rich raised the question…).

I’m sure it’s a lovely experience but that stipend seems pretty pointless–is it really $300 for the entire three weeks?

I know adding one more mouth to feed isn’t that expensive, but $14 a day for three meals still doesn’t seem like it would cover much?

What am I missing? (besides, obviously, a kind heart and generous spirit)
