I highly recommend Pamela also! I’ve been using her and her team for the last 6.5 years to clean our house and I trust their work and them explicitly. My house looks like a million bucks when they leave (I have 3 boys and 2 dogs, so that’s no easy feat!). Give Pamela a call, you can’t go wrong!

Holy cow, so close to winning this whole thing! Let’s go West Seattle, I know we can help push Heather and Jeremiah to the top! They truly are very deserving of this honor. I’m voting all day, from every device I have (multiple times if I can!). So exciting :)

Hi Bellamyjack! I’m a local mom with 3 yr old twin boys. I’m in a twin PEPS group and also am a member of Eastside Mothers of Multiples (EMOMS) http://www.emoms.org/. Both have been invaluable to me and my husband and our new life with twins :). Let me know if you need any twin-life related info, support, or help. I’ve probably been through it all, ha! akdevry at hotmail

brittlestar, I’ve noticed you only seem to comment on this forum when want to call a poster out for commenting about something and not disclosing all the info you feel they should about who and what they are. You come across as a bully and a stalker to boot. Now I’m trying to find a reason to use this Brian at Raincity Renovation just to make localgirl’s post worthwhile. Maybe I’ll fax her too.

LVBebe, I know of the perfect house cleaner for you and your pets!

We have used Pamela Staeheli and her Impeccable Cleaning crew for 3+ years now, and they clean our huge house ‘impeccably’. Pam is a good person who also happens to be amazing with animals. We have 3 dogs, including an elderly dog, and she is wonderful with all of them. And she is very affordable! You can contact her at 206-972-3557.

Yes, I would like it Mookie! I contacted your friend earlier in the week and have just not gotten around to getting back to them. We are going to be out of town until Monday however…I have emailed him back and will see about setting up a time to get over to see the piano next week. I also need to find a piano moving company. Anyone know of one?

I have two Graco bases Jks. No Chico ones unfortunately. I also have the Graco infant car seats that go with the bases if you do need those as well. I have twins, so 2 of everything! When do you need them by? We are heading out of town for the holiday weekend today, but will be back on Monday.

Hey Mookie…is the piano still available? I agree with Vanessa that it looks to be in great shape for its age. My kids have been very interested in piano playing of late. I also happen to know the finest piano tuner around. If it is still available, please let me know. I will email you at your address above as well. Thanks, Andrea

I will fourth the recommendation for Pamela Staeheli and her Impeccable Cleaning crew! We have used them for 3+ years now, and they clean our huge house ‘impeccably’ :). Pam is just a great person who also happens to be amazing with animals. We have 3 dog children, including an elderly dog, and she is wonderful with them all.

Pam was also instrumental in helping my husband and I get a woefully neglected dog removed from one of our neighbors a few months back (it was horrible). She was on top of the situation from the moment I contacted her, and took the lead for us in getting the dog removed and into the safe and secure environment it deserved to be living in. I will forever be grateful to her for that. And she’s a great house cleaner to boot! You can contact her at 206-972-3557.

UrbanFab…my kids are currently taking group swim lessons at the Matt Griffin Y in SeaTac as kayo above mentions, and they do have a wonderful children’s pool. They keep it much warmer than the average pool so it is more enticing to small children, and my boys love to get in it. They do offer private lessons, but you need to be a Y member. You could call them to see about availability and such though at (206) 244-5880. I couldn’t recommend the Matt Griffin Y and their swim lessons more highly though! We love it there!

Another supporting voice for PEPS here! I am a working mother to 2.5 year old identical twin boys and I had no desire initially to join PEPS either UrbanFabulous…not my cup of tea I thought. However, a few weeks into new motherhood, I realized that I needed help…and advice…and camaraderie! And just a reason to get out of the house :)! I was able to get my husband and I into a twin parents PEPS group (they have them as well as just moms and/or dads PEPS groups), and it has been invaluable to me, my husband, and my kids. I am able to bounce this unknown twin mommyhood business off of other twin moms, my husband gets to bond with other dads of twins and has realized that I’m not the only crazy mom out there (haha!), and my kids have made their first lifelong friends. Our group has met up every other week since Sept 2010, and we are from all over – WS, Ballard, Madrona, Mercer Island, Bellevue, Kirkland. It has been so, so worth the $200 joining fee! I love PEPS!

Just giving my 2 cents here. I am in no way affiliated with Krista or her company, but I am a lifelong West Seattleite :). We recently got an au pair from Mexico ourselves (in January) to care for our twin boys, and it was THE best decision we could have ever made. Foremost financially, as we save approximately $1000 a month from what we paid a nanny before our au pair. Secondly, you have someone there to help care for your kids all the time! What a relief for those times when I need to head to the store for something, or want to go for a quick run, or am stuck at work late. If anyone is looking for child care and has the room for a live in provider, go the route of an au pair. I only wish we had done it sooner!

Wow, I had no idea others from WS went up to see Dr. Lindsay also! I will have to third kayo and Franci’s recommendation to see her for osteopathy work. She is a miracle worker with magic hands! She adjusted both me and my twins when they were a few months old and then again when they were about a year old, as they had somewhat ‘traumatic’ births (forceps/suction resulting in some head and neck issues). They have both been issue free since seeing her (minimal illness, no ear infections, no sinus infections, normal growth for age) and my back and hip issues from carrying twins full term and having a regular delivery have been nearly resolved. My mom and sister also see Dr. Lindsey and agree that she is simply the best. You can reach her at (206) 325-5430. Her address is 2025 NE 100th St, Seattle, WA 98125

What all goes into fostering a dog FF? If you are still looking for a foster family for Kismet that is…if it is just a willingness to help Kismet get better and healthy enough to adopt out then my family could probably do it. We have 3 dogs as it is, but we have a lot of room and lots of love and affection to give! Hammerhead knows our family so she can vouch for us :).

I am quite a few years removed, but my 2 siblings and I all went to Hope Lutheran for grades K-8, and then up the street to Seattle Lutheran for high school. And we loved it! Made the best of friends there that we are all still friends with. I have a number of friends who now have their children at Hope and they all really love the new principal. She does sound very dynamic and great. If my husband and I were still in the area we would for sure send our kids there without question. I hope this helps you out a bit!

My mom, Mary Anne, was down there as well JoB. What she described to me as the living conditions now are just deplorable. I have never been so grateful for the roof over mine and my children’s heads. Thank you for all that you are doing! And to the stream of helpful neighbors as well.

And yes, high fives all around to the West Seattle Blog! I completely agree that the Nicklesville plight was heard more readily due to their continued coverage of the folks there, especially during such a day as yesterday. Thank you WSBlog!

I moved into my current home in January 2003, and I recall furnishing a good part of the house with things I purchased at KMart during their close out sales in the fall/winter of 2002. I think they were closed by winter 2002, though I’m not 100% on that!

hbrown99…my husband and I joined a PEPS group right after I had our twins last year, and I don’t know where we would be without the support of our group! we love the group interaction (ours is for twin parents), which meets every other week, but we often meet up for walks, dinners, lunch, swimming, holiday parties etc. I would suggest contacting the local PEPS admin through the links above and see if they can place you in a new group that is forming now. It will definitely be well worth it for you, your spouse/sig other if interested (my husband was against going at first but now he loves it as much or more than me!), and your baby! Good luck!!
