    Hi I was searching for any info I could find on the clouds of white

    I presume they are just what you describe, whiteflies. I guess we just need the cold weather to kick in and in the meantime let the spiders and birds do their thing.

    Funny I did a similar search and found the same thread. When I googled the whitefly picture it didn’t look like the same thing. They have what I would describe as a blue butt but I too am wondering what they are. They are everywhere in WS and I work in Auburn and they are all over out here too.

    Whatever you want to call them, they taste horrible. I managed to inhale a couple while walking the dog. Ick.

    They’re definitely not a come and go phenomenon. They’re everywhere, just go to any park at dawn/dusk. University of Washington and Green Lake Park are swarming with them except in the very coldest months of the year. Burke-Gilman Trail is a fantastic place to get your fill of insect protein while riding a bike through the swarms in the shade! *gag* I find them a welcome sign of spring, when it’s warm enough they come back and you know it stopped freezing at night.
