cruiserMemberEvening all,
I decided to take some of my dead cow outta freezer before power goes. Mrs C and I will be having some nice NY strip done on the grill outside with baked spuds and a couple bottles of red. I made some pretty good cobbler for afters.. What ya having kids?

AimParticipantCruiser, that sounds fabulous.
I’m going to take a cue from charlabob and make some p’sghetti. Cobbler sounds good too and I do have frozen blueberries. AND it will be good cold tomorrow if we lose power. Good call.
…soclwrkrinmotn, who’s had a bit too much beer this afternoon, says he wants some dead cow. :)

ZenguyParticipantCait, that sounds great. I love pork. I am gonna have some Thai chicken soup, this is definitely soup weather to me.

flowerpetalMemberUmmm Cait, I know what neighborhood you are in and I believe I could “nose” out pork roast and cheddar mashed potatoes.
We are having Saur Kraut and sausage with huge bread dumplings to soak it all up. But first we are going to start the evening with an old fashion cocktail. Zest of lemon, garnish of orange slice and of course a cherry.

mellaw6565MemberA WSB cookbook is an awesome idea!
December 21, 2008 at 3:34 am #651242
AimParticipantchange of plans. Ground turkey didn’t thaw, so instead I made meatballs and peas in a mushroom sauce over pasta. And blueberry cobbler. We’re currently waiting for the cobbler to cool to eating temperature (no ice cream — drat!) and drinking hot cocoa with a slug o Kahlua. YUM.

celeste17ParticipantI had spaghetti sauce over gnocci and mom had left over crab that I got from the blog. Then since everyone was talking about cobbler I made some of that. It had raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. With home made ice cream on top.

MargLMemberMade pizza from scratch using the 5-minute artisan bread dough recipe printed in the PI. Made a decent pizza dough. Wish I had a pizza stone, tho’.

December 21, 2008 at 7:41 am #651255
JillParticipantZenguy,lol!
Our dinner was pretty lame today, more like a snack, and I’m too embarrassed to say with all of what’s been listed so far. Mostly just appreciating the warmth and coziness indoors, as much as I love being out in the snow. (I love how desolate seeming it is out there right now.)
Ellenator, you got your Bailey’s, etc.? Holy sh**, we walked through the liquor store this afternoon and it was mobbed! We decided we could wait til Mon. for the minor purchase we wanted to make.
