We’re looking for a person or business that will rent a power boat to us in September. Our group would be small – 10 – 15 people – and we would need only to travel from West Seattle to Blake Island on or about September 12th. We’d be spending a few hours there and then returning to West Seattle. Several of the folks in our group are experienced boaters, no one owns a boat large enough to accomodate the group.

The only thing close to our needs is offered by the Wooden Boat group near the UW – but a sail boat is not really practical for our needs.

Has anyone on the blog ever chartered a boat for a similar, small trip? We considered Argosy even though we just want to visit the island as a family and don’t require the trip to Tillicum Village, but their last cruise is Labor Day.

    Thanks in advance,

I would contact Alki Kayak Tours to ask them for a referral – power boats had been rented at Seacrest (though I’m not sure whether directly by them) in years gone by – certainly they would be tied into the community and might have an idea of who you could try.

    good luck.

I just recently saw an ad for a charter boat company over in Port Orchard I think, that said they do charter trips to Blake Island. Sorry, I can’t remember the name but Google works wonders. You might also call Argosy and see if they have any names, or suggestions.
