HRGDIVINGParticipantGlobal Diving & Salvage, Inc. is the largest diving contractor on the West Coast, based out of Seattle, WA, a leading provider of marine construction and infrastructure support services in the United States, and an internationally recognized casualty responder.
We are currently seeking a Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Seattle, WA. This position is responsible for assistance in maintaining and repairing all equipment, warehousing, supporting field operations with equipment and materials.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist mechanics with the repair and maintenance of company vehicles and vessels
Assist mechanics with the repair and maintenance of tools and equipment
Mobilizing and demobilizing tools and equipment
Delivering tools and equipment to jobsites
Keep warehouse in good working order
Assist with upkeep of building maintenance
Understands basic shop equipment and possesses basic shop environment knowledge, above and beyond hand tools
Follow instructions given by supervisory personnel
Must participate in all company provided training
Operates and inspects equipment to diagnose problems and/or defects and after repairs
Maintains upkeep of work area, materials and tools
Assist with day to day operations as directed
Track and reorder inventory including consumables and spill response sorbents
Track the company vehicles and conduct spot inspections to comply with DOT requirements
Conduct daily inspections of forklifts
Check in/out equipment
Track and file work orders
Track vessel locations
Identify shop projects and request labor
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
2+ years experience with diving systems preferred but not required
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge and basic understanding of:
Diesel and gas engines
Hydraulics
Electrical
Pneumatic and hydraulic tools
Familiarity with computers and MS Office SuiteMust have verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal and external clients
Ability to work with a team and independently
Ability to proactively identify issues and offer solutions
Ability to meet DOT, Physical & additional fitness ability requirements for the position in which you are filling
Driver’s license and acceptable driving record
TWIC card
Valid and Current FA, BLS CPR, AED
Occasional travel to project sites and regional offices
Current GDS mandatory training and other required programs.
Read, understand and comply with all employer’s policies and applicable governmental regulations, as they relate to their qualifications or performance while engaging in company operations
Physical / Mental Requirements
Ability to work any day of the week both night and day
Available for after hour emergency response
Ability to lift 25-50lbs. Must be able to with stand the following for up to 8-12 hours per day in all weather conditions (Sun, Rain, Sleet and Snow): stand, walk, push pull, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb stairs and ladders; repetitive reaching, repetitive hand use
